“Original 70s

Arp Odyssey USA Synth Keyboard Rev3 V3

Made in USA

Up for sale is a vintage 70s Arp Odyssey v3 USA Synth Keyboard .

Please note that this is an original USA made highly desirable 70s version not a reissue .

The synth has just back from a having a service about 2 months ago so all works as it should – the keys work fine but can get a bit temperamental if you don’t play it for a while but they do work as they should .

The side of the casing does have some wear as does the base , there is a small chip on the bottom of the keys and is missing one of the slider tips .

Please note I have not checked all the outputs apart from the output socket and xlr which work . ” Click here to visit listing on eBay

ARP Solus Project Machine

“For sale, a vintage ARP Solus that is being sold as is for parts or needs repair. The keyboard powers on but does not make any sounds. Great project for a tech to get into as The ARP Solus is a light and portable synth that lies somewhere between the Axxe and the Odyssey. The Solus is monophonic with 2 oscillators that include pulse-width-modulation and a digital ring modulator. An FM slider allows for an external sound source to be ring modulated through VCO #1 which gives this synth added function as an analog ring modulator perfect for creating wacky sounds. A great sounding ARP VCF (filter) adds a nice touch. Pitch bending is accomplished using a simple knob. Designed for portability this synth comes packaged in a very nicely built road case. It has been used by Tangerine Dream.””

ARP Odyssey

“This vintage model 1 ARP Odyssey synthesizer belonged to my dad who’s owned it since he bought it brand new in 1973. It’s been sitting around for a long time, and he decided it’s time to part ways with it. About 12 years ago, he performed major restoration work on it. To my recollection he replaced/repaired all the sliders and switches, among with repairing as many of the internals as he could. The end result was, well… Let me put it this way. It sounds AMAZING for the fact that it’s almost 50 years old at this point. He even used it in live performances in the early 2010s though had to retire it because heat frequently threw it out of tune, and he didn’t want to keep calibrating it every five seconds. Nevertheless, all functions and all 37 keys work as they should, and it’s ready to play. Good cosmetic condition, too – very little dings and scratches. My dad’s had his fun with it, and now it’s time for it to go to a new home. I lack the musical talent he has, lol. To make things absolutely clear: This is an ORIGINAL grey face ARP Odyssey from 1973, not one of the 2010s Korg reproductions. Both my dad and I will be sad to see it go, but he doesn’t use it at all these days, and I know I won’t get much use out of it for my own daily needs. Includes hard carrying case, original ARP foot pedal, and three copies of the service manual. Because of its age, it’s being sold AS-IS with no returns.” Click here to visit listing on eBay

ARP Omni

“For sale is my Vintage ARP Omni 1 string/synthesizer keyboard – this keyboard has been completely and meticulously restored; all tantalum capacitors replaced, control sliders cleaned and restored, everything works like it should. All slider control caps are there too.

This is the polyphonic String/Synth combination ARP keyboard used by The Cars, Pink Floyd (on the “Wish you Were Here” album), Tangerine Dream and Kraftwerk. The strings are silky with Violin, Viola, Cello and Bass that can be combined to sound like a full orchestra. The analog synth features attack, decay, sustain and release envelope controls, a VCF and LFO. The strings and synth can be mixed and played together as well.

There are a few minor cosmetic scratches on the top and back from gigging and included is a wooden transport case for protection. Overall, in excellent fully playable condition. NOTE: this keyboard DOES require an external amplifier and speaker.” Click here to visit listing on eBay

ARP Axxe

“A very lovely ARP Axxe in fantastic cosmetic condition!

**No output from the VCO, on either of the waveforms**

The Noise output can be heard, as can the filter, which self-oscillates mightily with the resonance up, these little things are beastly!

You can process external sounds through the filter, and modulate that from the LFO.

Doesn’t seem to be triggering from the keyboard (I used the slider directly, as well as a Keystep via CV/ Gate) and not sure the ADSR is working correctly either, the Release seems to act as VCA gain level, rather than fading out accordingly. The last time I looked at this, I recall it was 100% aside from the lack of signal from the VCO, so may be missing something. The Key Repeat slider seems ok too.

A pretty simple circuit, schematics and parts easily available, doesn’t look to have been messed with in any way. It is possible to plug the connector cables in backwards on this ARP gear, but pretty sure it’s all in the right place. If the sliders flake out, they can also cut the audio, but not really suspecting those either. Straightforward, if time-consuming to dismantle and clean those if needed, and I actually have a few spares if it does turn out to be a dodgy fader.

100% original, some missing screws in some of the pics to show the innards, but they’re all included. May *possibly* have some caps knocking around too.. they’re notoriously brittle with age and often split into pieces, and the sliders look and function just fine without them.

*have found most of the sliders, see last pic, including one broken, glued & broken again.. should really clamp these while gluing if poss*” Click here to visit listing on eBay

ARP Odyssey

“You are looking at a vintage ARP Odyssey REVII Synthesizer, Serial number 2813, manufactured in the late 1970’s. If you are looking at this listing you know what it is, this is a real ARP Odyssey, NOT the modern Korg remake. I am the second owner of this synth, and prior to me it was owned by John Koumoutseas who in fact was a previous ARP engineer/employee in the 1970’s.

This specific unit is in excellent shape and has very recently been professionally serviced, which includes new key bushings, calibration/tuning, slider lubrication & cleaning (this is VERY important with these units), PSU updating, capacitor replacement, as well as many other tweaks.

This specific unit plays beautifully and sounds absolutely magical. Cosmetically there are a few minor blemishes that I will describe as best as I can so there are no surprises:

(1) There are some very small white scuffs on the edge meeting the front and rear chassis.

(2) There are two missing screws on the left & right side: this was done on purpose; the threads had worn out so the screw-holes were repositioned to the outer chassis

(3) The jacks on the rear have some minor corrosion but the electrical contact has been tested and gives good continuity.

I have tested this unit over and over and it is rock solid. However given the age of the unit and overall sensitivity of older electronics I am unable to guarantee that at some point in time it may require re-servicing.

I will also include the RCA Cable + Adapter required to use the “High” output in the rear of the unit. It is HIGHLY recommended that you use this output, it gives a much stronger & cleaner signal

This is a very special machine and I hope it goes to a good home. It will be packed very carefully and shipped with insurance. Ok, thats all for now! Thanks for looking and have a nice day.” Click here to visit listing on eBay

ARP Little Brother

“looks fantastic: see photos, it shows a little bit of age and wear and use, but no flaws, very clean too
powers on
lights up
the sound is working but seems random, I am not a synth expert, hooked up this little brother to the ARP AXXE using the CV input, the AXXE made the lil’ bro make sound, but it seems to drift or have a mind of it’s own, neither this unit nor the AXXE have been serviced, so not sure if there is something to fix or maybe just age has made it this way.

SOLD AS IS: looks great, works but may need service to operate perfectly” Click here to visit listing on eBay

ARP Pro/DGX

“The ARP Pro Soloist/ProDGX was used by artists such as Genesis, Tangerine Dream and Kansas as well as many other artists, including Diane Bish (believe it or not)! If you’ve looked this item up, you already know what you’re buying. I can’t say enough about this synthesizer! The digitally controlled analogue sound is sooooo ARP! Adjusting and tweaking the filter and modulation settings, this unit could be the only solo synth that you would need! Add a little reverb, delay, etc. and you’re really in business! You’ll notice right away, the fat analogue sound, such as the “Tuba” preset for instance. As with any of the presets, you can modulate the filter (“Brilliance”) slider along with up to six after-touch EFX, and you will quickly know that you have a powerful synthesizer at your fingertips! Adjusting the octave switch, gives you a 5 octave range! Please check the photos closely, it’s beautiful! This synth has been stored in an air-conditioned studio for more than 40 years now, still works great and stays in tune, spot-on! I really don’t want to let this gorgeous synthesizer go, but now it’s your turn to enjoy!!!” Click here to visit listing on eBay

ARP Odyssey

“This is an original BLACK and GOLD ARP ODYSSEY (1977/78 model).

When I bought this a few years ago the previous owner had done a paint job on it which in my opinion was not very attractive!

However, when I heard the sound a smile immediately came to my face… WOW…

All the funk and disco records I love and admire right up to Ultravox/John Fox etc is in this box… Wonderful sounds.

I used it to death on most of my recordings…

At one point I wanted different ARP sounds with the ease of use of the ODYSSEY. Eventually, I persuaded James Walker (Synth Repair Services) to take one of the filters (the 4035) out of my AVATAR and place it in the ARP ODYSSEY as an experiment!!!

The result was a very angry, spiteful, shocking sound which is meaty and gets into 2600 territory.

This thing bites and hisses like a moody, bitchy cat in heat.

I love it… but as I said I am stripping down.

Apart from paint job the Synth is 100% full working order ad functions as it should.

The modifications on this ODYSSEY and the ARP AVATAR have been done professionally and accurately by James Walker who has immense experience with analogue synthesizers and knows what he is doing. Therefore you can buy with confidence that all my synthesizers (with the exception of Kawai K5000) have been fully serviced by James and are performing as they should!” Click here to visit listing on eBay

ARP Avatar

“Arp Avatar vintage synthesizer – one of less than 300 made!
with rare matching Arp-design Korg SQ1 sequencer, matching orange patch cables and original Arp sales brochure

I have a trip up to London one day this week to pick up some other gear for the studio, possibly Birmingham and Bristol too, so if you want it dropped off somewhere or can meet up just message before buying and we can work something out. Equally you’re welcome to come to us. Prefer not to ship this one, it’s irreplaceable, literally!

I’ll be adding a few more tasty studio bits this week so please continue to check our other listings, we’re shrinking 30 years of gear into one small studio, anything that doesn’t fit into our current minimal set-up must go!

Priced to sell, might be worth a lot more, I just don’t know, it’s impossible to find comparables, I’ve priced it just based on how much we’ll miss it! Check Alex Ball’s excellent website and specific Avatar page for further info, his vids and pics are the only place I regularly see another of these.” Click here to visit listing on eBay

ARP Odyssey

“Here is a really sweet vintage ARP (Not Korg) ODYSSEY 2800 for consideration. I bought this unit in 1997. The serial number is #28337 and it was made in 1972. It already had the PPC (proportional pitch control) pad modification on it when I bought it. I have never seen another vintage 2800 with this update. They usually have the big knob for pitch bend. This unit sat for decades in a closet before I got it, and it has sat for another two after I got it, so I sent it off to analog synthesizer repair guru Eric Frampton to have it serviced. Here is a list of what was done:

All new sliders (I’m including the old ones in case someone wants to take the time to clean and save them).
Cleaned and lubed keybed and installed new keyboard bushings.
Replaced VCO2 course and fine sliders.
Replaced VCO1 v/oct, VCO2 v/oct, and 2nd voice trim pots.
Re-flowed and/or reworked previous solder joints, jumpers and repairs.
De-fluxed boards B, C, and PSU.
Complete calibration.
Rewired the low output (1/4″ connector) to have a hotter high level audio output.

In the 70’s, the Odyssey and the Minimoog ruled the land. The Odyssey has a unique sound and will do things that a Minimoog can’t do, such as oscillator sync, duophonic capabilities (you can play two notes at once), sample and hold, and several other things. It is a sweet machine but I just never use it. Again this is NOT a Korg remake! This is the REAL Vintage beast. You can see in the photos that it comes with the original foam-lined case, the original Arp synthesizer guide, and a copy of the owner’s manual in a binder. I also have the original Arp pedal, which I can’t find yet, but will send to the buyer when it decides to reveal itself. The synth will be double boxed and insured. ” Click here to visit listing on eBay

ARP Odyssey Project Machine

“Arp Odyssey MK3. Not a Korg or a Behringer it is the original 2821 Odyssey.

It still powers up and sounds amazing. However, this one has served me well but has run into a small problem recently as it is getting stuck in ‘sample and hold mode. The whole synth was deep cleaned by our tech. But we didn’t service her this time as we were just quoted £245-450 for the Odyssey to be repaired. This is reflected in the price of my auction.

It will need this service to get it out of the sample and hold fault. The tech believes it to be a loose board but I am not confident enough to open her up.

Beautiful cosmetic condition. The leather end cheeks are still intact and in good condition too. No yellowing of keys either.” Click here to visit listing on eBay

ARP Quartet

“Hello there! Cleaning house a fair amount, and pardon the terrible pics this keyboard is in the store room right now. This Quartet is completely functional and all keys were sounding when I last played it about a year ago or so. The biggest things to note are general scuffing on the wood ears, the power supply has a small crack in the outer red plastic (though that doesn’t effect the synth’s ability to operate of course), and the volume slider appears to have been bypassed in favor of a little potentiometer sitting to the right of the slider. I imagine that linear pot probably wore out and someone didn’t want to bother with a 1:1 replacement.” Click here to visit listing on eBay

“Vintage ARP Odyssey MKII 2813 Analog Synth

This is an early MKII and had the desirable “Lawsuit” 4035 Filter installed. I found it to be a little noisy so I replaced it with a vintage 4075 Filter. To me they sound the same with the 4075 having less noise. The 4075 does have the proper resistors for the CV range correction. I will gladly reinstall the 4035 Filter at buyers request.

It has been completely restored with the following work:

Thoroughly cleaned inside and out

All sliders replaced with new

All Polarized Capacitors replaced with new

External Input and High Output RCA jacks replaced with 1/4” Switchcraft Jacks

Pratt Read Keyboard Bushings replaced and lubed with the proper release compound.

Keyboard leveled and J-Wires adjusted.

Full Calibration to Factory Spec

The power cable has a broken ground pin. I will replace the power cable at buyers request.

ARP Solina

“Up for auction is an ARP Solina String Ensemble Series 35 Serial number 0097710 Manufactured by B.V. Eminent, Bodegravan Holland. This I believe to be the original version as noted by Wikipedia. I am the second owner of this ARP. It has had little if any use over the past 40 years.

Issues:

1. When I obtained it, the previous owner had painted it white. I tried to remove as much of the paint possible. . The white flakes are remnants of the white paint.

2. The instrument as can be seen in the photos show the case to be in severe disrepair with cracks in the frame which were glued, and damage to the side board and bottom corner.

3. The push button switches are noisy and need to be cleaned (cello switch especially has intermittent contact).

Despite the appearance of the instrument case, the sound that made it famous is still fully functional. I have uploaded a demonstration of its functionality. Remember looks are deceiving.

This is a wonderful addition to anyone’s studio for that true ARP Solina “analog” sound” Click here to visit listing on eBay
