100% functional. All buttons, keys, leds, Sliders ports and Jacks work well. This unit is From a smoke-free and pet-free studio stored away for years.

-The face has damage, There appears to have been stickers above the keys at one point that has paint worn off around where the stickers were. There’s a few spots with scratches. I’ve tried to accurately photo all cosmetic damage.

-Sliders have been cleaned (original slider covers), they both work smooth and quiet.

-The original AA battery holder was beyond repair, a AAA battery holder has been installed. I have the battery cover, but did not locate it at the time of photos. Unit does not need batteries to function, the batteries are for memory storage. I’m including the batteries that are in it.

-the old leaking AA batteries caused some paint to bubble and peel away on the bottom. This is limited to the battery area paint.

“I got adventurous and took this apart, thinking I could install the new OLED display myself. Then I got a rude awakening: I don’t know how to solder well. As best as I can tell, it will work again once put back together by someone competent. I left the new LED screen halfway connected, sealed it back up with some chassis screws, and put all the remaining parts I have in several zip lock bags for someone else to mess with. I did manage to get the keybed nice and clean while I was in there. Selling AS-IS. A working Casio CZ-1000 in nice condition, the rare ORIGINAL BOX, Manuals, Two 3rd party Patch Books, an improved metal 1/4″ output port Jack, and a brand new AC Adapter.

All the keys work. I love the feel of this keybed compared to some synths.The membrane is nice condition because I used a software editor for programming rather than the front panel, so it’s barely used. Commonly worn on many of these today. Over all, the keyboard is in better cosmetic condition too than most of these you will find.There is one side plastic peg missing if you wanted to put a strap on it but I would not recommend using these as a Keytar..The keyed is straight and not out of alignment like some keyboards. The battery compartment cover is included, and I don’t see any evidence of battery corrosion which is common on these keyboards from old batteries left in them for years.The LED’s work. The internal preset memory is working and I the original factory presets loaded. Without batteries installed, it will generally retain them as long as you power it on for a second every two weeks or so. “I’ve had this baby for a long time & it’s time to give it new life w a new owner!

The keyboard is the classic, small cosmetic but works great. Comes w the extra sound cartridge.

A couple of notes:

One of the piano keys has broken off, I placed a small piece of tape on that key/note & works as a temp fix. I’ve always used it as a sampling source, so I never had an issue with that key being loose.

Please see the 1st photo, the tape finally came off, so I’ll leave it like that for you to work with.

Sometimes the power button when pressed, doesn’t power up. This is a rare thing, it may have to do w the circuitry. It does indeed work regularly but the unit is being sold “as is”.

All of the lights light up & the screen works as well.

“These were very cool unique synths made by Casio. They used “PD” or Phase Distortion synthesis which is somewhat similar to FM or Frequency Modulation used by Yamaha at the time (in fact it would be more accurate to call Yamahas FM synthesis Phase Modulation). Casio had a whole line of CZ synths and this was arguably the top of the line. It’s bitimbral and is an absolute pad monster!

This one has an issue common to these that’s making it unable to be used. It powers up like normal (and was working fine for me for years) but now no sound at any of the outputs. The issue is a stuck relay associated with the output. It’s a known problem and not a difficult fix, simple part swap. I just don’t have the time and I have too many synths.

Cosmetically it’s not great but not terrible either. The plastic case is faded to varying degrees, the fader caps are missing (though the faders are still usable as is), there’s some dust, scratches, dings, etc, and the battery compartment (for backup memory) is missing it’s cover. “A Used Vintage 1984 CASIO CZ-1000 Digital Synthesizer Keyboard.

This keyboard was part of my recording studio gear. I don’t remember where I got it but I recorded a lot of soundtracks with it. As you see, it’s been around and played a lot. There is plenty of scratches, rubs, etc… It’s not in a great condition.

I own it since 1990, now it’s in my keyboard closet because I cannot play anymore. Does not come with the DC 9 Volt power supply but it play with batteries. I only tested for 10 minutes with a pair of studio headphone and the keyboard was playing. I did not test everything because there is a lot you can do with it. It may need repairs, servicing or cleaning.

In Really Good condition overall. No Cracks very few minor scratches that you will have to look for as it’s nice.

Sounds incredible all of the sounds display and sound great physically good too. The Key-bed is very good with no cracked keys or broken springs.

They all work as they should.

The Cartridge feature works correctly and was tested. Sounded excellent.
