Duel occillator It has a great arpegiator and short but punch step sequencer which is just a joy to use.

I have owned it snce 1982 and have recently cleaned it inside and out. The Keyboard is quite clacky and suffers from re-triggers but its 40 odd years old. “As seen in the pictures supplied, the panel and synth are in really nice condition – my opinion 9 out of 10.

One side cheek has a gnarled edge on the upper corner, but that does not affect the functions of the instrument. There are sellers who offer replacement side cheeks elsewhere on eBay).

The rubber key bushings have recently been replaced and the synth was serviced at Synth Restore. The keyboard is the J-wire version.

For parts or not working: The item does not function as intended and is not fully operational. This includes items that are defective in ways that render them difficult to use, items that require service or repair, or items missing essential components. Unit powers on and all 49 keys are in working order. The 10-key select pad is partially defective, you have to press most of the buttons with to much pressure to get them to function if they work at all. The Sequencer side they seem to be in much better working order it may need a bit of work. The knobs & wheels are in good working order. “I bought this Pro 1 brand new from Rod Argents Keyboards, Denmark Street, London, back in August 1982. It was the first synth I ever bought and my favourite too. It has never been gigged, but did spend a few years up my loft. However, for the past 8+ years it has been in my spare bedroom, mainly sitting on a stand doing nothing. I was hoping to get back into my music, but nothing has really happened, so I thought rather than let it gather any more dust, I may as well sell it and let someone else enjoy it. The original manual is still present. PLEASE NOTE Pick Up Only, this will give you the chance to test the machine before taking it and prevent damage in transit.

Needs a service, as the lower F key does not work and some of the pots/knobs could do with a clean-up. Also, small break in top of panel edge (see photo), but nothing major. Additionally, the side panels have been covered in white sticky-backed plastic, which is a little untidy in places. This could possibly be removed and the original wood re-instated, with a bit of time and effort.”

“The Prophet 2002 Plus was released around 1985! It is a 3U Rack, 8-Voice Velocity-Sensitive Sampler and 12-Bit Multitimbral sampler. This professional-grade instrument features a programmable resonant low pass filter (24dB CEM), dedicated ADSR amp and filter envelopes, LFO capabilities, and 8 individual outputs, all controllable through MIDI. The sample memory accommodates up to 16 samples, recorded at 16-42kHz. Refine your sound with sophisticated editing options, including sustain and release loops, reverse, and splice functionalities.

This Prophet 2002 has been used.

This unit is in good condition for its age. It shows some general wear like nicks, marks and scratches. There are some marks where some tape use to be, as well as some light oxidisation. Please see all photos for further details.

The wire has some imperfections on it as shown is some of the photos. The unit has some cosmetic wear. The keyboard piece is currently detached from the board and will be shipped out separated. I am selling my Sequential Circuits Prophet 600 6 voice analogue Polysynth.

For an instrument that is 40 years old it’s in excellent condition and sounds fantastic. Everything functions as expected.
“It has the GliGli mod installed and is running the latest (V2022 by Imogen) firmware which is running flawlessly. This new firmware brings a heap of functionally to the synth including an LFO with a much wider range, different LFO shapes, you can dial in different envelope behaviour, etc. More info on this can be found from a simple internet search. Alternatively just ask me and I can give you more information if it’s helpful. These improvements bring this into line with more feature laden poly synths and make it a very versatile instrument while retaining an easy and intuitive workflow.

I have had the cheat card printed. This makes implementing the new GliGli functions simple and straight forward.

When I purchased this from the previous owner they listed it as having been serviced. I don’t have any of the details of the service but given that it’s had the Teensy mod fitted this would suggest that other aspects of it will have been serviced. I appreciate that’s not particularly concrete but I want to be completely transparent with the information in the listing. What I can say is that everything functions as it should with the membrane panel working perfectly, and all keys and pots working as you would expect them to.

This synth genuinely sounds fantastic, alive and expressive. It has been my favourite sounding analogue poly that I’ve owned by a mile. I am only looking to sell it as I’ve just got hold of its big sibling the Prophet 5 and there’s so much cross over in terms of sound and function that I can’t justify keeping both.

It comes with a US plug hardwired but I will include a transformer that will allow it to work on UK power. I have enquired with several synth technicians in the UK and it’s apparently possible to change this to a UK type plug. I’ve never felt the need to do so as it works flawlessly as it is.

It also comes with a Thon hard flight case which the prophet fits snuggly inside of.

” Sequential Circuits Pro 1 synthesizer in superb condition. I have owned this from new for about 40 years after buying it from Rod Argent’s shop in Denmark St in London, and apart from a few gigs in the 1980s it has spent its whole life in my home studio with only light use. It is the more desirable j-wire keyboard model and I have recently replaced all the key bushings so it plays like new again. All the controls work and are noise free (there is some slight noise at one point on the filter amount knob but I’ve never found this to be a problem in use). Note that there is no midi capability on this synthesizer but it can be added by using a Midi to CV converter such as the Kenton Electronics Pro Solo Mk3.
Also included is the original operation manual which explains how to use everything and how to adjust the tuning and scales, although I’ve rarely needed to do this as it has always been very stable. I will also include the original box that it came in, which is serviceable but looking a bit faded and tatty after so many years in my loft.
