“Good condition with some scuffs the paintwork (see pics) and a couple of very small chips here and there (also see pics). No major visual damage and fully working. All buttons work, although a couple need a bit of the main selector buttons need a good press. The screen backlight still works, though it’s not amazingly bright. Not sure whether these ever were. This has been tested with some ROM cards (not included) and all 4 slots work. The flap over the ROM slots is still intact (it often breaks on these machines). The mains lead has been cut to add in an extension (see last pic) and this means it has a longer lead than standard. All round, not mint condition, but a good example.”

” Have to be honest I have no idea how to use or test this thing. Got it as a hand me down. Plugged it in and it powers up fine, all buttons seem to function.” Click here to visit listing on eBay

“Vibey, underrated drum machine with killer snare & well balanced kick.

Please note this has particular model has a couple of issues. Firstly the function 1 button (F1) doesn’t work. The contact underneath needs replacing – should be a straight forward fix.

Secondly when playing the drum buttons on the machine the kick sounds loud in comparison to the rest of the drum hits. This doesn’t happen if you are triggering it via your DAW…everything is balanced & as it should be.

I used to play this via my DAW / midi keyboard & it sounds great. All the decay, output level & tuning options work fine. ” Click here to visit listing on eBay

ddd1 “The drum machine and sampling board are fully functional with the age related quirks mentioned below.

The good:

It is clean and does not smell of smoke. The backlights is bright and led dark. All of the drum trigger button work well and are velocity sensitive. All button and slider caps are there.

The less good:

Physically, the drum machine has scratches, scuffs and is missing a chunk of plastic on the RAM card slot. She’s no beauty queen. The function and number buttons require a firm press. A rubber foot is missing from the bottom.

Other things of note:

This is a really cool drum machine with an ultimate 80s sound. It is was more directed at the working musician rather than studios. As a result, it is grittier (noisier) than pro gear of the same era. I think this gives it character. There are lots of ROM card with new sounds available. In addition, this one comes with the sampling board installed. So you can add lo fi samples to your drum patterns. The sampling process is pretty basic and you have to experiment to get the best results. The samples are kept in battery backed up RAM. Originally the sampling board came with a NiCad battery. The original died and has been replaced with a NiMD battery. This battery recharges when the drum machine is on. So, if you don’t use it for long periods of time, the battery will drain and your samples will be lost. A new coin battery and holder have been installed for pattern memory. ”

org dd1 “Great sounds! All functions work. The only problem is that the battery needs to be replaced. Your patterns/songs won’t save if power is turned off. The battery is inside the drum machine. It’s a 3v. There are instructions to change it on-line. Besides that this unit is in good shape. You’ll also get the original manual. ” Click here to visit listing on eBay
