Lot of 2 Roland MSQ-700

“This auction is for TWO units! Highest bidder gets two Roland Msq-700 Sequencers – Condition is Used. Expect some wear and minor scuffs, scratches etc – typical of units of this age. I used to use these units as a clock/sync for my din sync and midi gear. I never really delved into the sequencer functions.

I’ve recently plugged in the “good” unit and it was working as expected.

The “bad” unit is included for parts but can probably be easily returned to fully functional condition. I stopped using the “bad” unit because the main start/stop button is malfunctioning and display screen is dislodged.

I would expect both units to have patterns of some type already programmed in – some of which predate my usage. Although I messed with the sequencing a bit back in the day I, as I said before really just used for the clock/sync aspect.

I am not in a technical position to fully vet every operation of these machines, therefore selling these as-is/no returns, slightly cheaper than others out there and as a pair. ” Click here to visit listing on eBay

Roland MSQ-700

“I inherited this and hoped to fix it but I’ve too many other projects on at the moment!

It powers up okay and the display works which is good news however the PCB has a nasty crack in it. Fortunately, as it’s a vintage bit of kit, the tracks are spaced far apart and I think some scaling and bridging will get it going again. ”

Roland MSQ-700

“It is in overall good cosmetic condition with minor scuffmarks and scratches. Appears to work great and all buttons seem to function when pressed, but I have not tested it any further. I don’t know the status of the internal battery, but there are no warnings about it onscreen. Comes with a 3rd party power cord, but the DCB cable is NOT included. Since I’m not really familiar with this item and have not tested it alongside any synthesizers, it is being SOLD AS IS with NO returns.” Click here to visit listing on eBay

Roland MSQ-700

msq700“Roland’s MSQ-700 was the first MIDI-compatible sequencer in the world.

The MSQ-700 is an 8-track sequencer that holds up to 6,500 notes that can be stored. Several functions of the MSQ-700 include a chain function, multi-track function, overdubbing and a merge function. Use it to control your TR-909, or Juno-60 or any other MIDI equipment. The MSQ-700 is compatible with both MIDI and Roland’s proprietary DCB sync methods (although it can’t do both at the same time). It remains a popular and fun retro sequencer for Juno 60 and Jupiter 8 owners.

I bought this used a long time ago to sequence my Juno 60, and never took it out of climate-controlled storage. Mine is clean and not yellowed or smelling of smoke or mildew. There are a couple of tiny paint dings on the front panel; my photograph is honest and accurate. As far as I can tell, this unit is operational. It initializes without error messages, and the buttons and switches are all functional. I have NOT set it up with MIDI instruments to test, so you are buying it AS IS.

Power cord is included, but the DCB cable is not. This cable is still available online. Serial number is 401778.

There is a ton of information on the MSQ-700 online; I recommend you read up a little if you’re unfamiliar with its uses and functions, capabilities and limitations. I’ve included three pages from the factory brochure, which I do not own and which is NOT part of this auction.” Click here to visit listing on eBay

” This has been sitting in my closet, sealed, for a couple years so it is time to let it go. I plugged it in to ensure it still works and it is functioning properly. Cosmetically the msq is in near mint condition. The original manual as well as power cord are included.” Click here to visit listing on eBay
