“I bought this synthesizer originally from a music store in suburban Chicago so I am the only person that has owned it.I’ve used it and it works perfectly… However one side of the keyboard is cracked and the other one has a part of the plastic missing on the same . None of the metal on the keyboard is dented and all jacks work perfect. The keyboard comes with a volume pedal and a sustain pedal as well… Also included is an optional programming book which gives you detailed instructions on how to create your own sounds from scratch.

I make no promises but I’m still trying to locate a cassette tape that’s coded for different sounds such as organs and pianos… Also I may find the cord which attaches a cassette deck to download the sound as well. if I find those items I will include them for free but at this point I’ve priced it without the items in mind.” Click here to visit listing on eBay

“Yamaha DX9 Synthesizer, 1984, full working condition, complete with flight case. Owned by me from new.
Keyboard has 20 onboard sounds and is particularly good at percussive sounds – the electric piano and ‘koto’ sounds in particular. Both the pitch bend and modulation wheels are working. The keyboard is not touch sensitive but has midi in, out and thru. Sustain, volume and portamento can be controlled by pedals (not supplied). The casing is metal and the keyboard feels very solid in comparison to more modern ones.
Included with the keyboard is the original instruction (UK) manual and a purchased USA version, which is much more helpful with good tips on how to programme the sounds.
The case was purchased with the keyboard and is in good condiiton. May split at the right price.
There are 4 cassette tapes included, from which additional banks of sounds can be loaded. One tape is the original factory-supplied cassette, the others were purchased from the Yamaha users club some time later.” Click here to visit listing on eBay

but the only sounds I get are similar to old star trek computer sounds
all keys and benders work
display works and all buttons seem to be working
that computer like sound is the only sound I can get out of it
there is an added memory bank selector as seen – it does not change the sound
so I am not sure what it does – see internal pictures – you may know what it is
this unit has been modified and may need to be serviced to work correctly ”
