Roland Promars MRS-2

“The Promars is a genuinely underrated synth. Conceived as a monophonic version of a Jupiter, it is capable of some really thick sounds. It has a second oscillator that the Jupiter lacks as well as a great filter.

This is in working order, though I have never tried using the cv and gate inputs. It is a little dirty and the screw heads are pretty rusty but this is cosmetic.

It does include the original music stand and manual as well as the Roland hard case for protecting it. The Promars is a 100v Japanese import so you will need a step down voltage converter.”

“Physically in very good condition but it got some issue with the sound. I’ve been looking for a good technician for over a year now but there is none where I live. So I’m givning up and selling as is.

All knobs, buttons, sliders, keys etc works as they should but the sound comes out ”broken” like it’s a constant white noise over the wave forms. Sounds more when you open up the filter. Probably just need some component replaced inside.. should be a fairly easy job if you know what you’re doing and where to look. I’m better on the outside of the instrument..” Click here to search for synths on eBay

“Roland Promars Vintage Compuphonic Analog SynthesizerGreat condition, works well I’ve used it for making tracks multiple times all the modes and effects / VCO etc are working. This is a Vintage synth so if you’re looking for a brand new stuff that’s not for you, faders can be a bit rusty or capricious but overall I’ve not had any issues with it. Again I’m not an expert I have quite a few vintage synth and use them all casually so if you need a perfectly accurate diagnostic of the synth I cannot provide it. Visually on the bottom left you have some discoloration otherwise as you can see on the pictures it is pretty clean !”

” Selling a nice example of the quite rare Roland Promars. Recently serviced by Synth Service in London ( paperwork available) and in full working order, including the CV ins. Missing two screws to the bender panel ( see detail pic) but this is still solidly attached and has never bothered me in use. Easily replaced if you want. Panel is in very nice condition I’d say 8/10. Wooden end cheeks have the odd scratch but nothing serious, I’d say 7/10. See photos.”

Even though it has a North American plug, you MUST use the included power converter!!!

Failing to use the included power converter with ruin the synthesizer!!!

There are multiple areas that have minor but noticeable wear!

The bottom of the unit has very noticeable wear!

A couple nicks on the wood panels.

None of which affects the functionality!

100% fully functional!” Click here to search for synths on eBay

“If you’re looking at this, then you know what it is. I recently bought this from a real ‘synth guy,’ who went over it and serviced it… made it good for years to come. He replaced the battery, re-capped it, and cleaned it up. If you’ve been looking for a great Promars in very good-excellent condition, then this is the one… Also probably the only one available online that ships from inside the United States. It is in 100% perfect working condition.

In the interest of full disclosure, here is a fully transparent (to the best of my ability) description of the synth’s condition, with any and all ‘little’ things that one would want to know:

All original sliders, knobs, buttons, switches, etc. are present and accounted for. There is no writing or stickers anywhere- as far as cosmetic condition goes, there are some knicks on the wooden sides (visible in pics), a little bit of tape residue next to the word “Promars” on the face plate, and a little bit of rust/buildup on some of the screws (which could easily be replaced). Also, the Attack slider in the VCF section is slightly bent, but does not affect function. Synth stays in tune and tracks well.

Also, this is the Japanese version (100V), so you may want to get the appropriate voltage converter for this baby.”
