While exchanging the 40-year-old LCD display for a bandnew OLED display I’ve upgraded the ROM and installed a new backup battery.

From my tests all functions seem to work as expected. The pitch/modulation joystick is a bit tight, but works. Some buttons on the editting pad need a little more pressure, but also work.

Comes with a US-standard plug, stated input is 100-117 Volts AC.
The original sheet music holder is included. No user manual included, but can be found for download online.

“Reluctant sale, but as I now have a System-8 and V-Synth, space is an issue.

This is the last of the great Roland analogue polysynths. Sonically in perfect working order. The reason it is marked as for parts, is that two of the keys (B&D on top octave) are not triggering. It’s most likely a simple fix. Also the membrane pad to the left of the LCD is only partially triggering all the switches underneath.

Neither of these issues bothered me as I used it as a sound source and edited as seen in the pics from my iPAD with the £4.99 application IPG800, which is superb and I would highly recommend getting. I also have Windows editors (free online) for use in my DAW, so the key triggers and membrane were never an issue for my personal use. Good working condition. Minor cosmetic issues. There is a crack on the back right corner of the keyboard. Power receptacle is replaced with hard wired plug. See photo. All keys tested and work very well. See video for all keys working. I can provide more video of sound banks working as well upon request.

LCD screen is good and clear. Pitch Bend/Modulation lever is solid and works as expected. All membrane buttons work as expected with no break or tears in the membrane covering.

“I don’t have the cables to test if this works or not so it’s untested. This used to be used in my moms church and my uncle (the one who used it and stored it) had never had problems with it when he stored it 15 years ago.

Comes with box but has been water damaged since first picture, please see last photo. The box is still firm and can hold piano it just looks discolored in front. THE PIANO WAS NOT INSIDE THE BOX WHEN WATER DAMAGE OCCURRED! ” This Alpha 1 comes from a smoke free home. Everything is working fine, all keys are level with no yellowing, Preset buttons, Alpha dial etc. The screen is strong for a synth of this age. My other Alpha screen has been gone for years, but you can still read everything fine. Again, this one’s screen is fine. This has been stored in the included original case for years. Included is the original manual, power cord and case with strap. There is a small hairline crack on the units back left. I didn’t notice it until taking pictures. Only a matter of time before these gems start going up like the bigger brothers. My two cents. ”
