This unit is in good shape plays nice

The only issue is the power button can sometimes cause tuning instabilities but the keyboard works great and that issue is minor and doesn’t ruin the jam anyways hate to get rid of it, comes with a Roland power supply

“It does not come with an AC Adapter (must purchase your own due to possible sound interference), modulator grip attachment, or batteries. It works great. The tuning knob is lined up a bit off, but it tunes just fine. It runs for a long time on 6 size C batteries, or an adapter could be purchased for little money. It is in great working condition and is ready to play. Has been well kept in its case, and has nice white keys. If you put the batteries in and it doesn’t turn on, simply make sure the adjustable plate that the battery nipple touches is lined up for the appropriate battery. It take size C or another Japanese battery, which is P-14 if I am not mistaken. I had a guy buy it and send it back due to this, but I made sure the batteries were lined up and touching the metal and it worked like a charm for me. The white blemish on the bottom seems to be able to be cleaned off, but I left it as I acquired it. It comes with a carrying case it has been stored in which keeps it free of dust and what not. “This unit powers up and all keys play. All controls can be adjusted. Part of the pitch/modulation wheel is broken off as shown, but it works OK. The connector for the power supply is working, but is currently wedged in position to maintain electrical contact – it would benefit from being fixed more permanently. There is discolouration on the cover and damage to one corner as shown in the photos. The main problem is a constant low level drone from one note which continues even when the volume control is turned right down. With the volume turned up it is relatively quiet in relation to the keys when played, but it is still a significant fault, which is why I am selling the unit as seen for spares or repair.

The tech at MPA just described this as “by far the best condition inside one of these I have ever seen”.

Been in my home studio for years with very light use and absolutely no stories or issues

Recent Full Service – 21st Feb 2018 including tuning AND intonation for the legendary tones AND true percussive sounds that often go missing with age. Cost £120 so factor that into any other item

The ONLY reason this is not listed as 100% mint is a scratch on the battery cover that I did about 8 years ago and the volume pot sometimes crackles on adjustment but NEVER in use. Advice on service was to leave alone and keep 100% original.

Complete with power supply this will be a gem in any studio / collection. I am setting this at a low low start so we can see exactly what these are really worth in this kind of condition and with recent service ”

“Roland sh 101 in good working order. No power supply but is shown working in pic 2. The portamento switch is missing and the bender knob is damaged but still works fine. See pictures for most accurate description. This was used for recording and live performances with my old band but has been in the loft for last 10 years. Needs a bit of a clean. Classic piece of kit that makes some awesome music in the right hands.”

“I am the second owner of this Roland SH-101. I’ve had it since 2011. I bought it from Far Out Music in Indiana who got it from the original owner. Their service guy serviced it before I bought it.
When I first saw it I thought the green was it’s original color, but have since figured out it faded to that color.
At least it faded very evenly.
I’ve used it on a few recordings and hate to part with it, but I play so rarely now. Some one else should have the pleasure.
The underplate is missing screws (see picture) and looks like batteries leaked at one time, but it didn’t damage any electronics.
All buttons and sliders and knobs and keys work as they should as well as the CV ins and outs. I’ve uploaded a youtube video just adjusting parameters to demonstrate everything works. I forgot to record using the arpeggiator and sequencer.”
