“Here is a great Korg Poly-800 Vintage Analog Portable Synthesiser. This is from the 1980s, has 49 Keys Works Perfect. I recently had it looked over by McCallister Audio in Champaign/Urbana. They provided a wall wart, switched out some jacks and he fixed a grounding issue. All presets work and can be saved. This is one I really wanted to keep, but alas, it is just too much for me. “You are bidding on a Korg Poly-800. This is a classic analog synth from the 80’s. I am the original owner. I bought it brand new back in 1985, and it has always been kept in a dry, smoke-free environment. All the keys still have their original spring action and work perfectly. The joystick and all the buttons work perfectly as well, and the display is nice and bright with no faulty segments.

Cosmetically, the synth is in great shape for its age. There are some minor scuffs and scrapes, the worst of them being along the rear of the unit. The only other cosmetic blemish of note would be the bezel surrounding the joystick. At one point, the adhesive lifted and the bezel got snagged causing it to crack (see photos). I have taped it back down with some double sided tape, but it is starting to lift back up. It should probably be glued down, but I’ll leave that to the new owner.

“Up for sale is a Korg Poly 800 with full Atomahawk upgrade in great condition technically and cosmetically.

The upgrade gives 84 additional parameters which transform this already beautiful synth into a wild sound design machine while still providing you with the original parameters.

Additional parameters include frequency modulation, super lfo, aggressive resonance settings and lots of really interesting additional waveforms and modulation routing options.

Also there is no need to replace the battery for patch storage as the upgrade takes care of all of that.

One minor issue is that the dco mod stick can stick periodically. I never use this so has never been a problem.

Comes with power supply.

” Very good condition for its age, everything works, all keys are in good working order, all connections on the back are perfect working condition. The numeric buttons do double click sometimes but its not too bad if you use a light touch, perhaps would benefit from being cleaned somehow.

One small pin hole on the top left corner of the synth; which fortunately is where most people put the filter cut-off knob for the slayer mod.

This synth is un-modded, and includes 6 batteries which are essential to keep the patches loaded. Ideally somebody should add the battery mod and Moog Slayer mod for filter cut-off.” Click here to visit listing on eBay

“Up for sale is my Korg Poly 800. I believe this to be a very early production model because when I installed the internal CR2032 bettery, there wasnt even a symbol on the circuit board designating where its supposed to go. Other early models had the schematic symbol for the barrery, but no battery. Then later, they came with a battery.

Anyway when I got this it barely made any sound. I retrofitted a CR2032 lithium ion battery(still correct for this synth),did a factory reset and now it works great. There is a chip taken out of 1 key but it is cosmetic only. Also one of the black keys is less sensitive than the other keys but still plays just fine. Also at some point, someone stenciled the name “Johnny Hott” on the back. I found it too hilarious to dare remove it.” Click here to visit listing on eBay

“Works perfectly and sounds great
The number keys that are used to select the patch numbers can be a bit sensitive.
Sometimes you’ll press a key and it registers as two presses if you don’t take your finger off in time.
Maybe the keypad needs a clean. It hasn’t bothered me at all.
This is the version with the inverted keys.
No modifications, you still need the D type batteries to run the patch memory.
