“Oberheim matrix 1000 module hardly used just sat in the studio never on the road. The internal battery was replaced and that erases the first 200 presets. All the other 800 presets are in ROM and intact. The first 200 are in RAM that means that can be rewritten and they are only copies from that other 800 presets anyway. They are easily recopied from the manual by pushing a few buttons. The sounds are very fat. ”

“Casio CZ-101 Digital Synthesizer.Hello! We have had this synth in the family for a long time – my father bought this and used it for a short time in their wedding band years ago. It’s been mostly in storage. Although it has seem very limited used, there is one key which seems possibly broken (still works), as well as there are at least a few sticky buttons, and the input jack for the power adapter is finicky as to how you rotate it. I made a quick video in hopes of being transparent about the functionality. I am quite sure that some TLC on an older unit like this is entirely doable for someone who its worth it to. For us, we just don’t use this thing and would rather see it go somewhere better! “The external physical condition can be seen in the attached photos. There are no cracks or loose joints in the case and the instrument is very sturdy. Oscillators 1, 2, and 3 bleed through the headphone output. There is a constant background drone. This does not come through the main output and does not affect performing or recording. After warming up and being played for an hour or so most of the keys are stable. Some of the upper octave keys will go unstable and the frequency will fluctuate from time to time. Most switches and pots are scratchy when flipped/turned. Sometimes the main output switch does not work. If you turn if off and then slowly turn it back on it will work. I worked with the instrument for 3 hours yesterday and set all the internal pots from the rear panel and those are the only problem notes I have. There is a somewhat loud key-click, but that is not heard in the output, and would not be heard during a performance or a recording session. Also there is one yellowed key. That was a replacement key from the 70’s that yellowed over time. (According to the roadies they did not know what happened.) The thing sounds absolutely awesome and playing it brings back memories of past gigs and of hearing Keith Emerson or Rick Wakeman back in the 70’s.
