“Chance to own the original classic TB 303 bass line. For that amazing acid sound. good condition for a 35 year old machine that has had plenty of use as most have. (see photos for condition). Fully working i have tested today as i havent used it in about 8 years. tested with batteries as i have no AC adapter. “This is my used Korg Mono/Poly synth. I’m really sad to let this go, but I just don’t have the studio space for it anymore. This was well cared for in a smoke-free environment, but it did sit in a closet for years until now and it got a little dusty. I just tested it and cleaned the surface, and all oscillators and features seem to be working, but there are a few keys that seem to need a little extra pressure to respond (all of the keys do work), but even after I played it for a few minutes the issue seemed to clear up and those keys got more responsive right away (specifically: the G2 seems to take a little extra pressure. B1,F2,G4,B4 just slightly delayed but quickly improved).. so I suspect that it could just use an internal cleaning, maybe even a blowing out would fix it up? The rest of the knobs and switches are intact and working. The volume knob was scratchy for a moment but that went away after a few rotations.
The physical appearance is fantastic. There are a few small dings on the edges, but it looks really nice. Check the photos.
If you’ve never played a Mono/Poly, this is my favorite vintage synth. The mind-bending rumbling bass and inter-planetary sounds you can make with this device make it super-fun to waste hours on tinkering! “Serviced one month ago at the excellent keyboard repair department of Main Drag in Williamsburg, Brooklyn, this Korg Poly-61 M works perfectly, has cleaned pots and switches, and comes with all the original factory presets on board. Has a few cosmetic dings and nicks on the wooden side panels, but otherwise like new. Condition excellent / very good. RARE. This is the only one I’ve ever seen. Arpeggiator and joystick plus the chord memory feature make this a unique addition to anyone’s analog keyboard collection. Great for the ‘Stranger Things’ vibe too. “This Keyboard is in Good cosmetic condition. The housing is free damage but has some scratches mostly located on the end caps which is typical from prior use and ownership. The keybed is free of damage but has some dust stuck in the hard to get to places. The keys are moving as intended. The buttons and faders are also moving smoothly and properly however, the mod and pitch wheel are slight bent but are moving. “Somebody flaked on this one a month back, after realizing it does not come with a power cord. No power cord comes with. This is a power cord missing item.. also needs a new internal batt. I have tested it with my sequential Tom cord, and it turns on and sequencing functions work…the sound has gotten quieter as the internal batt wore down. ” Rare Arp 2601 Synthesizer. It’s time for it to be used to create music again! For many years, it was stored in a spare bedroom closet, and for years, I was going to have it restored and brought up to spec, but alas…, I ran out of time and interest… I did plug it in and turn it on… and all three oscillators generated tone, and they seemed fairly steady (no severe audible drift when tuned to A440 while on). However, I did not go through and test all of the functions and/or all the other modules.
You can see that there were some professional modifications added/done on this one (see pics). It may have been done by Phil Ciricco, the synth wizard at CMS. The quality workmanship of the switches/pots installed is evident, although I can’t say for certain:
3620 KYBD- 2 switches added on right side of controls. Function? Not sure.
VCF Potentiometer- Perhaps variable KYBD voltage control? Not sure.
ADSR- A switch installed and Sustain and Release output jacks? Not sure.
The buyer of this unit will need to invest some time and money in testing, calibration, and possibly some repairs, however the Arp 2601’s are rare and well worth the investment. All the switches, knobs are complete and the tolex has no major tears or holes. Some of the slide potentiometers are a little sticky- none are frozen, but they will need to be professionally cleaned and lubed. This unit looks excellent for being almost 40 years old- as if it lived in a recording studio most of it’s life! What you see in the pictures is what you’ll get. It is being sold as with no warranties whatsoever. I will securely pack the unit in two boxes (main unit and keyboard) and insure it for shipment to the lower 48 States of the USA only. Serial number 0786, produced in 1976.
It has lived in my air conditioned, smoke-free,humidity-controlled studio since 2011. I purchased it in 2011 from the second owner, and it was in great shape. I have kept it in near-perfect condition, and had it serviced by Wine Country Sequential in San Jose, CA:
1. General maintenance, tuning, cleaned key contacts andsliders, repaired high pass filter slider.
2. Rubber key stops replaced.
3. Control panel potentiometers replaced
4. Field effect transistor in the Sample and Hold moduler eplaced
5. Replacement of the tantalum capacitors
