Roland Juno 6

“The Roland Juno-6 is a six-voice polyphonic analog synthesizer, first launched in 1982. It was one of the first polyphonic synth for under $2,000. Arriving after the Prophet-5 in the 70s and the Jupiter-8 in 1981, the Juno-6 was much more affordable than its competitors.

The 61-key Juno-6 offers one oscillator per voice (with two selectable waveforms) and a powerful filter section, capable of stunning six-voice polyphony, heightened by the two types of rich chorus effect that are built in – which became a favourite effect on the Juno-6. This chorus effect remains one of its most notable characteristics – noisy, but much loved for its swirling spatial textures.

Its arpeggiator also stood out, which has a selectable range of up to 3 octaves. A fader also controls the rate, which can additional be controlled by an external sequencer/clock input.

This particular unit also features MIDI functionality, which many do not! It’s our understanding that Roland installed the MIDI functions after initial production, so this was not a feature of many of the earlier units that were made. This now seems to be quite rare to find!” Click here to visit listing on eBay
