“Hello, this listing is for a Monome Norns and a 128 Grid, bought new by me in Nov 2018 from the states. With import charges this came to a few quid short of £1,400. Both items are working great and operate as you’d expect. Please bear in mind that much of the Norns software is still in active development. Check out the Monome Lines forum. At the time of writing I have the latest version of the Norns software installed.
These devices are a lot of fun, work very well together and have so much potential (as more and more scripts get written for them by users). it feels strange to be selling them so soon after buying them, but I don’t really have much of a setup to integrate these guys into and I’m not in a position to spend more money on a setup. They’ve been a lot of fun, but now I want to try something else.
Condition wise the Norns has only got a bit dusty and fingerprinty since November. Unfortunately on the Grid the aluminium front edge has ever so slightly dented in two places. You can see this at certain angles and you can feel it when you run your finger along the edge (the dents feel smooth though, not rough). This was caused by accidentally dropping a very small plastic dictaphone onto it from about 8 inches away when I was doing some lo-fi tape experimenting. I guess those aluminium edges are pretty soft! If someone knew what they were doing I wonder if they could recut the edge? See the last two photos where I have highlighted in red.

“This synth has had a full service – every slider has been cleaned or replaced if needed, one of the MM5823N divider chips was replaced, a 2n3906 transistor was replaced in the first oscillator. Also, the synth received a full recap using high quality Nichicon electrolytic capacitors. I performed a couple standard mods and changed the RCA out to a normal 1/4” jack along with increasing the overall output volume. The nasty ass foam protecting the sliders has been cleaned off and replaced, along with new knobs and slider caps. All keys were removed and polished. This synth looks lovely and will sound beautiful for years to come. Cosmetically speaking, it looks pretty good overall and has a few cracks in the overlay, also a few flecks of what seems to be white paint. Other than that, it’s quite pretty for a synth this age.”

“THIS IS IT!
Roland (solely a Japanese company at this time) came up with this VERY nice basic analog synth in 1973. This was THE sound that made the Steve Miller Band “Fly Like An Eagle” album an immortal classic. I can remember being completely astonished the thing got the sounds it could in a completely easily-portable package- you could (still can) play this comfortably on your lap. It couldn’t do all that a mini-Moog could (signal routing is essentially fixed), but it had other features like NOTHING else that small and lightweight at the time.
Everything I can think of (as an experienced keyboard guy), I checked.
All the keys work.
The oscillators all work.
All VCF functions work.
Portamento and noise generators all work fine.
The VCF stage has some internal noise, much more than new, obviously, so it functions as a feedback oscillator when the Q is set high- this, to me, isn’t a bug, it’s a feature, and a fun one.
One of the “tablet” style switches was broken off, but still perfectly usable, I kludged up an extension to make it easier to actuate- there are a bunch of old home organ models that use the same type of tablet (not Yamahas, though, which is what’s sitting here at the shop and easy to get to)
Serial #255385, I haven’t been able to pin down DOM from that yet.”

“This is a genuine M-500 Korg Micro Preset SP, the very rare model with the built-in speaker.
Please note that two of the presets don’t work – these are they Synthe 1 and Synthe 2. This is a very common issue with these synths but can be fixed by replacing some of the capacitors.
Otherwise it’s in good shape. The sound can warble a bit, again a common issue with a synth that’s forty years old. But it’s a great bit of kit.”

“Up for sale is a Yamaha SY35 Dynamic Vector synthesizer keyboard. This one was made in Japan, serial number IX02428. The low G# key no longer rebounds but does make a sound when you manually lift and press the key. The high E key has a chip out of the bottom of it. It doesn’t affect the function of the key. When the unit is picked up, it sounds like it has something loose floating around inside the keyboard. Lots of scratches and wear throughout. It does power up. It does make sound, but other than that, I have not tested it more fully than that. It does come with a Yamaha AC adapter. It is being sold AS IS, for Parts or Repair. ”
