Prompts that it needs battery replaced.
Sometimes is displays gibberish characters on the right side of the screen.
Sometimes it continues to play after you release the keys, like it has a mind of it’s own.
Sometimes there is no output on single voice.
I could factory reset it, but I do not have the ROM to reload factory data.
I’ve included some samples of readouts.
No broken keys.

“You are buying a vintage high end yamaha DX7 II-D digital programmable algorithm synthesizer in working order,everything works as it should just has very small chip on one key and one broken key (easy fix) broken key still functions properly. Item was removed from local church and has not been abused (sat in same spot for many many yrs,they just replaced with new one) ”

“Here is a classic DX7II-FD. This synth is in good cosmetic shape other than the damage that was received while in storage. Some heavy items were placed on top of the keyboard, resulting in damage to the bottom two octaves of keys, and to four of the buttons (two of the voice mode select buttons, the EG Copy/Store, and the Play/Performance button. I’ve been playing the synth all morning and it still sounds great. All of the other controls seem to be working just fine. Please see the photos to examine the damage.
