This early 80s budget analogue synth has been well loved but has become a bit bruised over the years. It will still make a noise, but not reliably, so probably best to sell for spares.
There is damage to a couple of keys and a missing slider cap (see pictures), otherwise intact.
Has headphone and line out jacks but is pre-midi so no other outputs. Inputs for breath controller and ac adapter (neither of which is included). ”

” Yamaha CS01 vintage analog monophonic synthesizer. This synth is mostly broken, and is really suitable only for parts, or only if you really like the sound of an analog keyboard that’s on its last legs.
“Synth is in great shape and perfect working order. It takes either batteries or included 12volt adapter, not the original but a modern and better adapter. All functions work well and the keys are undamaged and still good and springy. I tested it on its own speaker and through a keyboard amp and performs flawlessly. Running through the controls you can here definite sounds from the eighties ( eurythmics, depeche mode, omd etc ). A really well kept bit of vintage kit.”

“Yamaha CS-01 vintage analog synthesizer with case, strap, and Yamaha power supply. Item is in great shape and plays well. This is a great monosynth capable of very deep basslines. The model was reportedly used for basslines by Steely and Clevie of Jamaican dancehall fame. The synth has some slight discoloration/fading above the keyboard and some discoloring, scratches and paint chipped off (see final 2 photos) around the sides and back of the casing, but is otherwise in good shape for a vintage item. No battery leakage. Battery cover is included. Foam inside battery cover has darkened with age. Internal speaker works or synth can be connected to external amplifier. Carrying case is original and has some discoloration/staining probably rectified with a handwash. Strap ends are on the synth and the strap is included if you want to play it as a keytar.”

” You are bidding on a fully working Yamaha CS01-ii analog mono-synthesizer. The unit is in great condition, with only a few scratches on the bottom. I took the unit apart and inspected it and cleaned it where I could. All of the knobs and faders have been tested for proper operation. All of the keys work and I cleaned in the contacts on all of them. The unit works with both 6AA batteries or when plugged in (12V power supply IS included!). The circuitry looks to be in great shape (see pics).

“Unit is in wonderful condition and with battery cover. It should be noted that there are slight markings near the rear of the left-hand side panel and back where I cleaned the device. This is fortunately out of sight. No apparent marks on the front panel. All sliders and switches work without noise. Lovely condition with no niggles or faults. My very first synthesizer! Shame to see this one go. Comes with PSU but no manual or original box.”
