The entire replacement of the keyboard is about 100$ but I never had a problem with it, I’m more concerned with how it sounds (awesome) then the cosmetic issues. ”

” This is a Sequential Circuits Six-Trak synthesizer in great working condition. Multi timbral synth with advanced early MIDI capabilities. You can multi stack to get monster analog sounds. It’s got some really nice custom made looks like birch ends. This is the Japanese 100VAC version but the studio I got it from insisted they always used it at 117VAC without issue. I contacted Wine Country because they sell a US transformer for this for only $10 and David Sesnak formerly of Sequential Circuits, emailed me back and advised it’s not necessary, these 100VAC Six-Traks work fine at 117VAC.” 
” I bought this very cheap with the intention of attempting to repair it, but don’t have the time or energy to mess with it.
“This Prophet 600 looks amazing for its age. All the knobs function and all LEDs light up in response to the touch pads. I re-loaded the 100 factory preset programs back into it to give it a fresh start and they play,sound and match their descriptions OK. I’ve never had this keyboard worked on and after ten years of home studio use followed by 23 years of storage in my closet here’s what went wrong:

Includes interface cable and pedal, Interface cable needs to have a minor repair done (the 1/4″ control plug needs to be reattached.) Anvil hard case (for P5) and generic hard case (for PR). (Anvil case has 3 letter brand.) The P5 is NOT fully functional. Suspect 1 or more faulty capacitors. This unit IS repairable. The Prophet Remote IS functional. These boards were meticulously cared for by one owner who, instead of keeping these two babies, has to sell them to pay for his divorce attorney. Will not split up. “Ive put in a good effort trying to get this thing fixed, but I think it’s time to pass it on. Essentially, the main issue is that the sixth channel is screwed up. This usually manifests by not producing any sound whenever you hit a note on the six channel, and unfortunately, it’s kind of unpredictable which you know will be on that sixth channel. You can partially correct the problem by setting the voices to monophonic, but that ruins a lot of the fun. Additionally, some of the numeric buttons aren’t working very well.
“Classic 80s synthesizer!! looks and sounds great!!!all bottons and functions work! 4 minor flaws.1.the midi switch from thru to out is stuck..not a huge problem. 2. one key has a chip on the bottom as you can see in the picture. 3 tiny scuff above sample bottons.last but not least, the floppy drive only wants to work on some discs. factory synth filters sound amazing, and warm!! a lot of variation to each sound. this is an as is sale! no returns!! this machine us from 1985, please understand there is no returns. thank you, happy bidding..ps I would not be letting this go if I didn’t already have the prophet plus.happy bidding good luck! ”

“Sadly having to sell my Max, I love this synth but I am just not using it as much as I should. It is basically a sequential sixtrak but without the parameter editing, a preset synth with 80 presets. That being said I have been editing the sound of this synth with an app on the iPad, check the video link out for demonstration and information about the app. It’s in good working order considering its age, everything works properly, with a few scatches you can see in the photo’s. And it comes with the original power supply.”

“A rare early serial number 1981 Sequential Circuits™ Pro One. Serial #249. Made in San Jose, California USA. This is the J-bar edition with a smooth, well functioning keybed. All keys engage and stay engaged. Synth is fully functional, as is the sequencer, no stratchy pots. Only a few scratches here and there (see last three pictures for scratch and dings). “Sequential Circuits Polyphonic Sequencer Model 1005 in very good cosmetic condition but not completely functional. When I owned a Prophet 5 the sequencer did function normally when recording and playing back sequences from it’s internal memory. Braemar tape drive appeared to be defective back then so drive may need repaired or replaced to save, playback and store to and from tape. I no longer own the Prophet 5 so I can’t troubleshoot or test sequencer any further.
“Up for auction is a vintage Sequential Circuits MAX Synthesizer keyboard. This unit is working and seems to have most all functions in place and operative. I’m guessing the unit has 6-note polyphony, and it sports a rudimentary onboard sequencer – ‘Start’ button is missing, and I didn’t bother to try and test the sequencer function as I doubt it would stack up against, well, anything made after 1982. You get basically 7 banks of 10 sounds, and apparently the only way to ‘deep edit’ the sounds is via computer. (Note that by progressing further into editor mode you will be officially flirting with full-blown geekification.) I can’t even dare to guess what hoops you’d have to jump through to get a modern computer to communicate with MAX, clearly a throwback to the heady infancy of financially accessible analog synthdom. Perhaps there are generic editor programs out there…? That said, there are a handful of onboard presets that are recognizable, and I daresay that in bank 4 (40-49) there is at least one startling TB-303 soundalike. MAX appears to be responding to MIDI in Omni mode, though Poly mode is selectable. External Pitch and Mod wheels are recognized, but suspiciously, Volume is not. ‘Tune’ button is missing, but the unit sounds like it powers up at concert pitch. Back panel power jack is looking for 8 Volts AC / 800ma – I am including a 10V adapter that seems to work fine, but I would suggest being on the lookout for a proper 8V / 800ma adapter. Cosmetically, the unit is in pretty good shape, looking good for its age. I cannot test every single function on this synth, and I have tried to describe it as accurately as possible – I am selling it As-Is and As-Described.”

Data entry fader knob is missing, the data entry fader works, I use a toothpick, a fader knob is .99c on the bay. Also the floppy eject button is missing, also a toothpick works, I’m sure you can be more creative than me. Knobs will be removed for shipping. They slide on and off. Firmware is 2.10 feb 1988. Unit is very clean on the inside as pictured. I will package and ship this unit knowing a rare gem is inside.”
