“Ive put in a good effort trying to get this thing fixed, but I think it’s time to pass it on. Essentially, the main issue is that the sixth channel is screwed up. This usually manifests by not producing any sound whenever you hit a note on the six channel, and unfortunately, it’s kind of unpredictable which you know will be on that sixth channel. You can partially correct the problem by setting the voices to monophonic, but that ruins a lot of the fun. Additionally, some of the numeric buttons aren’t working very well.
The last guy that took a look at it gave me a description of what’s going on. I’ve quoted him below.
“Its pretty beat – membrane switches are pretty shot, something is busted in channel 6 and the case is rough. (…) All 6 of your chips are good, it’s something else in channel 6 not the synth chip. The chips are CEM3394″
He’s encouraged me to sell it for parts since he believes a repair of this particular unit might be kind of difficult. Of course, that’s just one opinion.” Click here to search for synths on eBay
