“This is an early model Oberheim OB-8 analog synthesizer and does not have factory MIDI. The unit is in excellent functional shape. It has a small dent in the rear of the unit shown in the photos. I’ve never had any issues with the presence of this dent. I purchased the unit with this issue and the previous seller did not have issues either. I have replaced the entire keybed with new contacts and thoroughly cleaned the unit. The volume knob sometimes has a slightly scratchiness only while turning when not in use for a while which is normal for its age. All buttons and knobs work as far as I can tell. It has all the original patches as far as I know. There is nothing like the sound of an OB-8! I have purchased many newer analog synthesizers and just don’t have room for this monster. “This Oberheim Matrix 1000 was fully functional until someone had it for a few weeks and did something to it. It will not start up now. The fuse looks good and didn’t blow but it shows no display activity now. All six voices and all functions worked prior to shut-down. It may be the power supply, or regulators, or display, or something else. Since I haven’t got the equipment or expertise for the task, it must go. No returns. The six narrow CEM3396 chips are all present. See pics. Includes power cable, fuse, screws, and the synthesizer as shown. Heavily double-boxed for travel.”

“Up for auction is a vintage Oberheim Matrix 12 synthesizer. Unit has a few bumps, marks, and scrapes cosmetically, and one key is broken. Functionally I have provided two links to videos below to demonstrate that the synthesizer powers up and all keys and controls function, however it does not operate correctly. My original plan was to get this instrument properly serviced and have any issues repaired, however I have found no one in my area worthy of the task. Therefore, instead of paying to ship the unit back and forth to a proper technician, I am offering it as is, just to test the waters. The tuning sometimes passes and sometimes fails but usually fails across the board. Occasionally, as demonstrated in the videos, I can get some functionality out of the default patch upon startup, but usually just garbage sounds. From my research the issue could be as simple as replacing the power cable input, which I will do if this auction ends without a sale, as the part is available and inexpensive. I am aware my opening price is high, but there is no reserve. The question is, how bad do YOU want what has been called by many the baddest analog synthesizer ever made?! “This is the great Oberheim Matrix 1000, with 1000 pure analog patches. This synth packs so many sounds, it can be overwhelming. I’m also pairing it with an Alesis Qudraverb. The two together are perfect for most synth needs. The Obi works great but the volume pot is a little scratchy, I used it mainly with my Keystep for a year or so, and only in my house. From what I was told it is all original and no mods or updates have been done. Not sure if Ive gone through every patch, but the ones Ive used sounded amazing. Quadraveb is in decent shape, Ive noticed that if you move it around alot the output can cut off, but is not really an issue for studio usage.”

“Near mint condition. I cant find a scratch or fault anywhere on this Xpander. Looks brand new without a flaw. Functionally, works flawless. All encoders work properly with no skipping or errors. The LED screen works perfect without any burned out lights or faint lit lights. All 6 voices tune properly. Wooden side panels look new-screws look new, etc, etc. Maybe the underside of the Xpander is scratched….I haven’t looked at the bottom. Roadcase is in very good condition-interior foam is in excellent condition. Original manual is in fair condition. ”

“Greetings; I’m offering up my Oberheim DSX Sequencer. It comes complete with the foot switch, volume pedal, power cord, and interface cable. This DSX has been stored in a closet at my home for many years. It is in excellent condition for its age. I sold my OBXa many years ago, so I have no way of testing it properly. The DSX worked well with my Obie before I stored it, which was 10+ years ago. My OBXa had the MIDI conversion, so I didn’t use it too much….(I was using a Roland MC-80). I’m not sure if it needs to be serviced, but the battery will most likely need replacement. I will include the instructions if I can ind them. I’m not too far from most of SoCal if you would like to arrange for pick-up”

“Purchased in 2002. Very clean condition. There is no pulse wave on VCO 2. It came that way when I bought it, so I just leave it on Triangle which sounds just great. The manual says you can vary the slope of the Triangle waves, but I have never been able to do that. You can vary the pulse wave on VCO 1. Everything else works great. Two sub oscillators to create a really fat sound, plus cross mod and sync to get some very interesting sonic explorations. These synths are quite rare and not up for sale very often. They are direct descendants of Oberheim’s SEM modules. A true piece of synthesizer history.”
“This auction is for an Oberheim OB-8 analog synthesizer with MIDI. The OB-8 has its original cassette program tape, owners and service manuals. I did plug it in and it does work. Presets all seem to work as do all the led switches. The case does have a few light scratches, but there is nothing broken that I can see. If your local, please come and try it out.
