This synth is really awesome. It has great voices and it sounds very close to an analogue synth, and the sequencer is awesome. All the buttons and nobs are right on the front so there is almost no menu diving (It’s worth it to read the manual though because it is complex at first.) It’s time to part with this MS2000R. It has served me well and it still works well.
All knobs and buttons function. Some of the keyboard/preset buttons require a firmer press, but they all work.

Cosmetically, it does not look new. It has the patina of well used rack gear from around 2000 (See photos).

I took it to my local tech shop and was told that it had a bad (IC 18) chip, which is a common problem with these synthesizers. This synth is in great condition and is working perfectly.

The LED on button 3 is dimer than the others and the lower left rack mount is a little bent. These issues don’t effect the functionality of the synth at all.

“This is a Korg MS2000 modeling synthesizer, vintage original with original box.
Nice synth, big fat sounds but a few problems.
The left and right outputs do not work, I think this is down to dry solder, so I used the headphone output which is situated on the front left of the synth (see pics).
Also the input where you plug in the power supply needs a wiggle, but it does work.
This is a great synth but needs a bit of TLC.
Reason for selling is I’ve bought a new synth.

“Please note I am not a tech, but I will do my best to describe what I see. This comes from the estate of a deceased friend who was a synth player and tech. It includes the case, the keys, I believe a master volume knob, a headphone jack. I don’t have a way of testing anything. It is missing the knobs, and the wooden end blocks. I don’t know if it is missing other circuit boards or whatnot, so please look around online and decide for yourself. I can’t accept returns because I’ve had people harvest parts and then try to return them. What you see in the photos is what you get, no more, no less. I’m closing it up exactly the way I got it.
