This fine vintage instrument was recently professionally serviced (March ’19) by world-class synth technician Greg Montalbano of Analog Synth Service (Oakland, CA). This service included keybed maintenance, and voice tuning/calibration (records available).
Cosmetically, an OBXA in Excellent near-collector grade condition, with the 120 patches, and the more desirable Pratt & Reed keybed, is pretty rare! It’s mostly clean, with a couple slight scuffs/scratches, and small chip to left wood side. See pictures for details.
Synth will be well-packed and shipped. ”

I bought these new for about $1600 and they are VERY powerful and interesting instruments, I just haven’t had any time to really dig into eurorack so I think it’s time to let them go and move on. I would estimate they have been powered up and patched less than a total of about 6 to 8 hours. Please see pictures, there is very minimal to no “rack rash” – pretty much in the same condition as received new. I will include the power cables, expander ribbon and mounting screws – the eurorack is not included, just pictured to show the modules powered up.”

“Moog Source in excellent condition and perfect working order. There are a few very minor marks on the exterior but as you can see from the photos it’s a stunner and has been very well looked after for all of it’s life. The membrane switch panel is original and in perfect condition.
Sounds amazing, as you’d expect. This was serviced by James Walker about four years ago. James replaced many components with uprated equivalents to improve it’s stability and reliability and it’s been spot on ever since.”

“This is a modified piece. View photos for more detail. I’ve attached labels to describe the mods as best as I know. They are a huge improvement for this synth. Overall condition is good. A couple keys have small chips. The foam that goes around the knobs and switches circuit board has been removed. The mixer section sliders sound a little dirty. It tends to pick up noise in the added knobs if the volume knob is set too low, but the sound is clean if the knob is set higher.”

“Roland JX-8P Polyphonic Synthesizer – DOES NOT POWER ON!! USE FOR PARTS!. Condition is For parts or not working. Unit is having trouble powering on. From a quick look inside the unit, it appears to need a new power transformer. Retail price for a new transformer is around $50.00. It would require some basic soldering skills to fix. This item also has some damage to one of the preset buttons on the front, the label itself has been scratched off but the button to select the preset seems to be functional. Item also has some writing on it with permanent marker. Item comes with power cord, but will need repairs to get powered up. Item is also missing a few screws on the side and bottom which may require ordering from manufacturer or other parts store. ”
