“I bought this to try to fix up but the condition ended up being rather atrocious. It likely came from a garage, basement, or outdoor shed – it doesn’t have an odor though. Upon opening it up, it had all kinds of dust and dirt which I vacuumed out. I installed a new battery and repaired some wires that had somehow been broken. I cleaned the tops of the keys and key contacts.
It powers on on the first attempt, but then when turned off and on again, it won’t power on until being left off for a while. I tried reloading via tape input dozens of times, but got an error message each time. I tried loading patches via sysex but nothing brought the patches back on. All the patches are quiet, or noise, or bad sounds although the filter does sound nice and it does have some oscillator sound as well. I had limited success trying to program a patch, turning the noise off and adjusting the decay and release, and delay. It seems it’s something more wrong with it than simply re-programming the patches.
All the keys trigger. The pitch bend and mod stick doesn’t work and sound the way it’s suppose to. The buttons all double trigger when pressed most the time. The sliders move, although a little rough, but it was hard to test their functionality given that the patches are so bad.
