Oberheim Matrix 1000

“I purchased this synthesizer used in 2014. It is in perfect working condition, and very good cosmetic condition. It has some minor scuffing and wear in spots, and some of the Oberheim logo, “Matrix-1000” and “Volume” printing on the front-left side of the panel has faded/flaked off (see photo). It was in this condition when I purchased it, and has not sustained any more wear since then. It has been used in my smoke-free home studio and was never gigged by me.

I also updated the OS by installing a new OS V1.1.3 programmed eprom chip in 2014, which adds some MIDI control functionality and improves MIDI CC response time significantly (see photo). This enables you to use PC editing software to edit and save your own patches. I used a program called Ctrlr, you can google it for more info, there are probably several options at this point. This effectively turns the Matrix-1000 into an Oberheim Matrix-6.

This is the fantastic Korg MS2000. A 4 voice virtual analogue synth that sounds like the Microkorg (same synth engine) but with all the pots on the front for instant tweaking.

It’s all too easy to lose hours playing this synth.

It’s in really nice condition ( especially amazing considering its age). If I’m being hyper critical the only negative I can find is some buttons need slightly more of a push (but not much).

“Original Arp Odyssey white face MKI 2800, with custom flight case.

This one is not mint, but functionally it is very good. Everything works.

It does suffer from old sliders, generally the throw is inconsistent. What I mean by that is that some are slightly stiffer than others. Perfectly useable, but not perfect. If they haven’t been used for a while they can make one or both the oscillators warble a bit, so they need moving about to settle down. To be honest though, I don’t even know why I’m mentioning it. I just want you to know what your buying, rather than saying ‘In Good condition.’ and leaving it like that.

Cosmetically it’s not the best, with some paint scuffs here and there, I still have all the slider caps except one, but a lot of them are split or splitting and come off so easily, I set them aside! I did have a few spare caps but never fitted them myself, I have no idea where I put them, but I’m hoping they’ll turn up!
