“For sale is a fine example of the classic and rare Korg Mono/Poly Vintage Analogue Synthesizer. If you’re reading this then you probably already know about the mythical powers of the Mono/Poly. Exceptionally powerful 80s analogue synth, capable of very beautiful traditional sounds or completely wild, devastating patches. This thing sounds absolutely dangerous. The warmth, fatness, depth, modulation capabilities, tightness of envelopes and lush screaming filter resonance are unmatched by anything else. It’s just alive – as soon as you switch it on and hear it you know there are spirits living inside it (these spirits can’t be cloned by Behringer! :).Machines like this just have an unpredictability that doesn’t exist in modern gear. That’s what makes them so interesting to our brains/ears. I’ve used 4 different Mono/Poly’s over the years and although all retaining the same voices and capabilities, they have all been slightly different in their character – which is the beauty of them. Composing with this synth is simply joyous – it leads you down a patch of exploration and creativity, particularly because you can’t save or recall patches. It makes you think and learn. This machine was professionally serviced not too long ago – I still have the service notes and invoice, I’ll dig them out and provide them to the buyer. The original flimsy chipboard end cheeks have been replaced with high quality walnut end cheeks and cosmetically the synth is in pristine shape.Working perfectly and sounding incredible. In excellent cosmetic condition for its age.
