Large PAiA Modular Synthesizer Module Lot

“Untested assembled PAIA 4700 analog modular synthesizer with 2700 and 8700 series parts.

These kits were assembled in the 1970s and installed in a wall cabinet in a basement den. The
manuals were stored in a garage and at some point got wet, but were dried out and have been in
dry storage for 25 years.

The modules were removed from the wall cabinet 25 years ago and have been stored in boxes
in dry storage ever since.

These modules are unrestored, untested and have not been powered up in decades. The modules
will be bubble wrapped individually for shipping. Please email with any questions or clarification on
modules labelled as “xxxx” that cannot be determined from photos.

The Artificial Neural Network is a collection of submodules for the creation and processing of control voltages, programmable logic, waveshaping, signal conditioning etc.

Two identical Threshold Logic Neurons are capable of patch programmable combinational and sequential logic. Each input is weighted and may be manually triggered.

There are also two identical Boolean Logic Neurons inspired by the Dual Logic Unit of the EAB video synthesizer.

Also included are several useful utility submodules: Dual Schmitt Trigger, Comparator, and Dual Not Gate.

“Custom 8-voice polyphonic modular Eurorack synth built for a sampling project. That’s right, 16 oscillators at 2 per voice!

The goal of the project was to emulate a vintage Oberheim 8-voice in both unison and polyphonic modes. The various Oberheim 8-voice VST emulations are great, but they just don’t capture the “organic” sound produced by free-running hardware oscillators and filters.
