“A Casio CZ-101 synthesizer in very good used condition. One owner. All functions work properly. There are no modifications. I have no testing equipment so that would be up to the buyer if they want to open it up and tinker with it. This is an as-is sale.
A little history:
I bought it brand new in San Rafael, California in the late 1980s. Hooked it up to a Commodore 64 with a program that would generate these wonderfully bizarre random patches.
Later I hooked a Casio DH-100 digital horn up to the CZ-101 and played the random patches with wind controller ability.
Then in recent years I hooked up a midi to computer cable and used it as a controller a little while. I was using a power adapter without batteries and noticed that the internal patches were all empty (no sounds). But after installing new D cells and pushing the reset button they all came back.
I no longer have any cartridges or midi cables so I can’t test those functions, however they used to work fine with the ones I used to have so I would think it’s still okay.
Everything else appears to be working as it should. All keys play. ”
