DETAILS: In June 2018 I installed a new floppy drive, as the belt on the previous floppy had given out, which I understand is a common problem with VL1-Ms. (The new drive is “new old stock; they don’t make them any more.) I understand floppy functionality is pretty much a non-issue unless you’re seriously into voice programming, really, in any case, because once you have all the best voices installed, you don’t need to use the floppy anyway, or you can load and unload via MIDI, but I figured a buyer would want a working drive. I’ve tested the VL1-M since installing the new drive and it works perfectly, and the replacement drive is identical visually to the original as it sits within the front panel. Also — some years ago I managed to break the headphone volume knob. I glued the knob back together (this was all easily done without disassembly; all was outside the enclosure) and it’s worked perfectly ever since; there’s no visual or tactile cue it ever happened.
