My beloved JD800 in need of some love.
Although it turns on, patches and memory intact and is perfectly useable as a sound module, 13 keys are not working. 2 are sticky and the rest are in responsive. It most likely needs a new contact strip or such like.
I’ve run the diagnostic test and all faders work fluidly with exception to the cut off that jumps in increments of 10. Most likely needs a good clean!
There’s a low mains hum from the outputs not uncommon for a synth this age (I bought it in 1996) it’s never bothered me and never been noticed on any recordings.
These machines when services go from £900 + so could be a great project for someone willing to rework the keys and cut off slider. Otherwise a great board for that authentic 90’s sound or worth sampling!
