Roland SH-101 with Roland MGS-1 Modgrip

” The Roland SH101 is a classic analogue synthesiser from the 1980s. Despite being monophonic (i.e only plays one note at a time) it was in high demand in garage and techno band recordings of the time, especially for its funky bass sound. Being light and often strapped around the shoulders like a guitar it was consequently a very cool looking instrument to play while strutting your stuff. It is one of the few keyboards from that era that has maintained its value and is still in demand.

I used it for several years in the mid 80s, both on the road and on recordings, but since around 1989 it has stayed indoors and unused in my home, snug in its hard case. As a result there are no scratches or marks to speak of on the body. I recently had it serviced and cleaned, ordered a new power supply and had the interior of the hard case refurbished. As you can see from the photos the case is also in excellent condition and provides first class protection. ”

Roland Juno 106

Roland Juno 6

“Vintage Roland Juno 6 Analog Synthesizer w/ soft zippered case. All pictures are of the exact Juno 6 you will receive. This item was purchased as part of a large estate sale and I have no idea of the history. I have done my best to test this item, but I am not a musician so my tests are by no means a representation that it works perfectly. I wanted to do as much testing as possible to ensure I am not selling a 45 pound paper weight!

The first thing I did was plug the unit in to make sure it powers on, which it does. Then I brought it to my local music store for testing. They were unfamiliar with it and were unable to test the item. I brought it home and found some videos on you tube of a gentleman testing a Juno 6. In his tests he completes a Pad/String Test, a Arpeggio test, and a synthesizer test. I did my best to follow along with the tests on this unit and the sounds coming from this keyboard were similar to the ones on the video. In my opinion it passed the tests. Some of the knobs did seem dirty, as there was a slight delay in the effect being heard, although with some wiggling of the adjuster, it worked fine.

Also, I do not have speakers so all tests were conducted using the headphones plugged into the rear headphone port.

There are some bumps and bruises on the sides of the wood grain vinyl. The toggle joystick has broken off. There are some scuffs and scratches on the unit and a small spot of surface rust or corrosion that can be seen in the pictures. Also, one of the plastic knob covers is missing. The item will be shipped responsibly, within the soft zippered case and securely packaged. ”

Roland D-50 Project Machine

” This was a project I picked up with the hope of fixing but it’s now sat on my desk for a few months without me touching it leading me to realize I won’t have the time. It does start up but there are lines over most of the LCD screen. In testing when you push certain buttons the display does change (see pictures). Plugging it into my board I wasn’t able to get any sound out of it. Last, but not least, the person I got it from lost all the screws keeping the back metal panel secured to the frame, so you’ll need new screws. My lack of time can be your gain.”

Roland Juno 106

“Powers up,all lights working, appears every fifth key not working, I don’t know what is wrong, maybe voice chips, maybe something else, or a combination of things, anyway, absolutely sold as is, no returns accepted. I prefer local pickup, where you can try it out, but I will ship, as long as buyer knows they are getting a keyboard that needs serviciong. You will need to connect it to an amplifier, as you probably already know. New replacement power cord included.

All sliders , knobs and buttons are present and accounted for. Bender is also perfect and functioning.

In very good physical shape, a few small melt marks on several keys, random light scratches and marks, and some scratches on the bottom of unit(see photos). Photos were taken with and without flash.”

Korg Polysix

“I am selling this awesome analog-digital vintage synthesizer from the wonderful 1980s. This thing sounds retro and phat, but can also be used for nice thin “plucks” and “plinks”.

This synth is well-loved and does need a bit of maintenance. The program buttons can be sticky, the keys sometimes stick, and the arpeggiator seems to be busted. However, all voices are intact and that analog filter is totally badass. This item is sold as is.”

The Korg Poly-61 is similar in features and sound to the Roland Juno 60. The Arpeggiator and Chord Memory are two of the coolest features. You can sync an analog drum machine that has a trigger out (like the Korg Rhythm 55 KR-55) to the arpeggiator for more fun.

This unit was a victim of battery leakage. It was professionally repaired and a new battery was installed.

Came from a major label artist’s studio, he had purchased this recently as a refurbished unit. I don’t currently have the refurbishing details but it is fully functional and in excellent shape. Korg MS-20 Project Machine

” Here’s a Vintage Korg MS-20, its the Mark I grey face filter which is a little bit rarer I believe. The filter is aggressive.
It was serviced in 2008 by LA synth tech “Synthfool” Kevin Lightner, RIP.
He rebuilt the Sample and Hold circuit, replaced a cracked key and the front panel jacks, and generally cleaned it up as well as tuned it.
It sounds good. But is in need of more tuning and cleaning.

I’ve included a video of me playing each key, and then running an arp via Midi to CV while tweaking the VCOs and filters. You’ll see in the video that certain keys ‘wobble’ in pitch. Also, notice the volume knob crackles with use, you might get some intermittent noise like that from the pots. I’m not a tech, but maybe this means the contacts need to be cleaned on it in general and especially the keyboard, it is after all 40 years old.

I’m listing it ‘for parts’ as there is no return and these issues are documented, but I’m assuming someone will clean and tune it and not strip it out for parts, which would be a ridiculous shame..”
