Tested and fully functional. Reprogramming the memory keys is needed but not difficult.”

“For sale is a used Yamaha DX7IIFD FM Synthesizer. It is a really cool board that I will miss. It is the epitome of 1980s FM synth sounds. Amazing for pads, strings, ambient sounds and more. I bought it used earlier this year from guitar center. It came with its issues. Pitch and mod wheel were wobbly, but they have been tightened and work fine. There is one key that is chipped on the underside, and 2 that are slightly raised (all 3 keys pictured). All keys play normally. The “A” output does not work, but the “B” output and the headphone jack both work fine. The midi output has some strange behavior that I have not been able to troubleshoot. The midi in works fine though. The floppy disc drive seems to be working mostly normally, but I have not been able to successfully format or save to the floppy disks that I have. I do not have any cartridges, therefore have not tested the cartridge slot, but I have no reason to believe that it has any issues. Pedal inputs work normally. Display has no issues. I have not changed the battery personally, but there do not seem to be any battery issues (which can apparently be common with this board if untouched for significant periods of time). There seems to be something rattling around inside when moved, but it does not affect performance. There are obviously scratches and dents that are all pictured. I am selling this “As Is” for these reasons.”

“I bought this synth at a yard sale a year or so ago. I didn’t realize it at the time of purchase, but at some point it was used in a smokey environment. I noticed the smell once I got it home. I don’t notice the smell any more, and everything still works with it, so I can’t say for sure if being in that environment effected it or not.
