“Please read for complete description of the synthesizer.For sale is an Oberheim Matrix 1000 analog synthesizer. I purchased this unit about 5 years ago from a college music professor. It was fully working when purchased and has sat unused for years. I recently powered it on to test it before listing it for sale and it displayed the “1.1.1/6.1.1” error message on the screen. I powered it off and on, and it then worked perfectly fine. All of the buttons work perfectly, all of the inputs and outputs work, the volume knob works perfectly, and it sounds absolutely AMAZING. I left it powered off for a week and went back to it. I powered it on and got the “1.1.1” message, I powered it off and back on, and once again was able to get everything to work perfectly fine. Looking into this error, it looks like an issue with the back-up battery. I don’t have the time or money to spend repairing it so I’m looking to sell it “as-is”, though I’m sure its an easy fix for someone who is familiar with vintage gear.
