” I’ll start by saying, the new versions are def cool, but not even close in raw tone. The original is still the real deal. These are quirky, cool synths… the best of Japanese Filters for sure. Gritty, gnarly and more. Two OSCs of sweet tone. Notice there is no screw on the VCA section panel.. this is an original 35 filter version.. known to be much more aggressive in tone and much rarer than the latter filters : )
Ive had this for years, used it for years on albums and soundtrack work. It always sounded killer, always stable too. I have never been one to do the modular/patching thing so that portion of this synth was never utilized.. I’m not that kinda guy : ) plus with as sweet as the standard portion of this synth is, i never felt the need to delve into patching. Couple of cosmetic things to note… there is a small crack on the right side panel.. never bothered me.. and the lowest white key on left is slightly tilted to the right. it still works/triggers fine, that never bothered me either.. been using it that way for quite a while.” Click here to search for synths on eBay
