Korg Poly 61 Keyboard Synthesizer, 1983 – non-functional, Fair Condition. Condition is For parts or not working.
I have owned this Korg since 1996 and it’s always been kept in its heavy duty case. About 8 to 10 years ago, the voices stopped producing sounds when it was first turned on. At this time, it will sometimes produce some sounds after being powered on for over an hour. I believe there is a capacitor issue, or that the board needs to be tested and re-chipped. It cannot be actively used without maintenance work performed.
As such, I am listing this as Non-Functional and For Parts. Interested buyers would be those looking for a project or scavenging this one for parts.
The joystick in the picture was customized as the original broke some time ago. I still have the original joystick, as seen in photos, and it will be included. Perhaps someone with some 3D printing skills could replicate the original to fully gain use of both axis.
Note; the battery was removed to avoid it leaking and causing corrosion. I will update the photos with a close-up of this area. I do not believe that there is any corrosion, and I removed it as a precaution.
The case is overkill and extremely heavy and probably should not be shipped. The metal trim makes it a bit dangerous, and I think this was a custom tour case built in the early 1980’s. I will gladly ship without this extreme case and just use alternative padding provided by FedEx.
