# Jen SX1000

Jen, SX1000 @ 05 August 2014

“My modified Jen SX-1000 Synthetone Analogue Synthesizer.

I’m having to sell due to being skint (thanks huge dentist bill).. It’s fully working and in good condition for the age, probably built around 1979 looking at the serial number.

The condition is good, not mint as there’s some dings and scuffs in the wood cheeks, but what you’d expect for a synth 35 years old or so. The metal panel has some slight discolourization, as can be seen in the photos, but there’s no rust coming through. I’ve always given the synth a polish every month to keep it protected and it’s never got any worse.

One of the previous owners also removed the red anodizing from the knob caps in the VCO section. Personally I think this makes the Jen look less toy-like (I was never a fan of the muticoloured knob caps). all caps are present.

I’ve serviced the synth, gave all pots a good clean & replaced one. I’ve also modded the synth a fair amount, but still keeping the stock look (apart from 1 small 3 pos switch on the fascia & Audio In jack on rear)

I followed mods from various sites on the net. especially Neil Johnson’s page. (where he proves that it has a 24db filter NOT a 12db as everywhere else states)” Click here to visit listing on eBay
