E-mu SP 1200

“Emu SP1200 Sampling Drum Machine Reissue 7030
Just had it serviced almost two months ago by Bruce Forat in July.
Replaced with a Brand new Floppy Drive
Put in all new tact buttons very responsive
Cleaned off gunk on the motherboard
Installed all Brand new faders
Installed a New LCD Blue Screen to read easier
Works like a champ
Long Power Cord Included
Also a Ton of Floppys blank and a lot with sound kits loaded on them

Ive owned the Isla S2400 & the Rossum 1200. They both didn’t sound as good to me as the Original SP 1200. Its probably because both of those other machines are made with different parts internally. They didn’t have the alias signaure sound it was suppose too. Also a little more polished and brighter than I was expecting compared to the original 1200.

The SP 1200 is king of grime for one. Also the supply is low and demand is high.

Overall, the magic of this machine is the “life” that can bring back to most sampled drums

If you sample into an SP at 45 +8 then pitch it down THAT to me is how you get the distinctive sound.
It may be argued that an experienced mix engineer can emulate the sound of the SP through EQ’ing. That doesn’t sit with me since I attribute the distinctive sound of the SP largely down to the converters and the effect of pitching samples down. When you consider this with the fact that it’s far more accessible for your average beat maker to buy an SP rather than employ a mix engineer to attempt to emulate that sound every time you want to make a beat. ” Click here to visit listing on eBay
