” This was a great find. The woman I purchased it from had purchased it new in 1984 (I believe the actual production year is 1983) to “learn how to play piano.” Ironically, this model was the first polyphonic synth I ever owned.
She played it occasionally for a few months, and from that point forward it sat on a shelf in her basement. The only thing that stands between this instrument and a MINT rating is the scuffed paint on the underside of the keyboard (perhaps from being moved across a rougher surface; shown in pictures) and a couple of VERY faint scratches (which I was unable to capture in any images). I have had the Juno 1 for best part of 25 years. It is showing some wear and issues are
two keys are not working, one of the keys also does not spring back as it should. The octave up and down buttons do not work and the volume slider is scratchy when being used (its stable once set)
The synth itself plays fine. All the soft touch buttons work and screen is good. Personally I have never had it repaired and use it as a MIDI sound module to get all those classic Alpha Juno sounds, if you did want to repair it the issues seem to be mechanical rather than anything else, I would expect them to be cleaning of contacts but I am no expert. ”

Ive cleaned it all up, and the sound is as fresh as it was back in 87. The only flaw in this amazing retro synth is , when i found it and purchased it, it didnt work. I traced the problem eventually to a bad power cable, i looked but was unable to find a proper power cable for it, so i removed the bad one, and soldered in a new power cable. It works perfectly now, amd sounds fantastic. I would keep it, but im already overloaded with equipment in my studio, and just would not be able to give this lovely lady the attention she deserves. Buy it today, ill ship it out to you as fast as i can. Run your fingers across her ivory, and if you play her just so, I swear You can still feel , and hear echoes from the 80s. “This TR-909 unit was once owned by Skinny Puppy and, previous to that, the one and only Kraftwerk. Considering the enduring influence of both of these groups, it really deserves to be in a museum. It’s been in my possession since 1994 and has never been outside of the studio. While I would love to keep it around for trusty grooves (and as a conversation piece), my interests have changed. It should be in the hands of someone more dedicated to the keeping the techno mojo flowing.
It’s in top shape except for one technical issue: the internal memory has stopped working. A technician traced the problem to a faulty CMOS chip, the repair of which would be relatively straight-forward. In the meantime, patterns can easily be saved to a cartridge (such as the M-16C or M-64C), if need be. In any case, I’m building up beats live most of the time and consider this the quintessential mode — see Jeff Mills ‘Exhibitionist’.
Voltage is currently set for 120V. This can be changed internally to 220V or 110V by switching taps on the internal power transformer. “ROLAND TR-505 Rhythm Composer AS IS Needs repair.
The machine is working except the snare drum is not right.
It generates a high pitch sound that bleeds thru the mix.
I had a tech at a local shop look at it , he changed a few parts but paying buying the hour was getting to cost me to much.
All the other drum samples sound perfect.
The LCD screen is in great condition as is also the drum machine.
You could add individual outputs to isolate each sound separately avoiding this ugly snare drum.
Comes with the 2 manuals and 6 new batteries. It also works with a power supply but thats not included.
