Fully functional including Midi and stereo outs , with some refresh work done by me. All 64 presets work, all buttons work, bender works, Internal memory works ( the 32 internal memory slots have many custom patches), aftertouch works. Screen is bright.
New battery, with new battery holder ( in 20 years you won’t have to solder a new one in, just pop it in!).
Restored endcap internal fastener channels. (The end cap plastic screw channels on most of these is old and cracks, because people over tighten them. They are mostly cosmetic and not structural. I rebuilt them with CA , new hard plastic channels and Marine Epoxy- please send me any questions)
The outside of the custom flight case is a bit rough, but the foam inside is still fine, and the keyboard fits snug. Brand new rubber feet installed.

I can’t test the after touch function, so I have no idea whether it works or not. I can tell you that the internal patches are just amazing. Oh, there are a few screws missing on the bottom, but nothings loose.”

“I am not an expert but I plugged it up into an amp. It worked fine. Wasn’t staticky or anything. The different settings worked. I have the right power cord for it. It is nice functionally as far as I can tell and also nice cosmetically. The only (and very small thing) is the right side of the plastic chassis, if you pull on it it tries to lift up. I’m sure it just needs to be screwed in thats all. When I pick it up to move I pick it up by the middle of the body.
“I purchased these units last year for a band project that ended up falling through. Since that time they’ve never been gigged with and have been used very little. I’m clearing out some unused gear, so they must go. The JX-8P does have some wear, which is to be expected for its age, but all in all it’s in fairly good shape. The keys work and the patch membrane buttons all function as well. The PG-800 programmer works great and looks like it just came from the factory. Neither of these items have given me any trouble while in my possession.
“Roland JX-8P Polyphonic Synthesizer – DOES NOT POWER ON!! USE FOR PARTS!. Condition is For parts or not working. Unit is having trouble powering on. From a quick look inside the unit, it appears to need a new power transformer. Retail price for a new transformer is around $50.00. It would require some basic soldering skills to fix. This item also has some damage to one of the preset buttons on the front, the label itself has been scratched off but the button to select the preset seems to be functional. Item also has some writing on it with permanent marker. Item comes with power cord, but will need repairs to get powered up. Item is also missing a few screws on the side and bottom which may require ordering from manufacturer or other parts store. ”

The strip under the keyboard wears out. I didnt feel a need for Aftertouch so it didnt matter to me. This function is still available by external control however. “Up for sale is my beautiful Roland JX-8P Analog Synth with additional memory. Synth sounds really good, works as it should, and has the optional and rare memory cart for storage of custom patches! Keys are in great shape and work well. I love the Pianos, Strings, Pads and Leads on this synth. A little wear/discoloration on the left edge and top by the sliders, but otherwise very nice and a great example of this synth.”
