“Here is a very cool Roland JX-3P. The serial number is “313561” which dates it to 1983. It has been tested and is in excellent working order. The volume pot is a little scratchy when you turn it and it has been sitting for a long time, so it will need some cleaning and maintenance. ” This was a great find. The woman I purchased it from had purchased it new in 1984 (I believe the actual production year is 1983) to “learn how to play piano.” Ironically, this model was the first polyphonic synth I ever owned.

She played it occasionally for a few months, and from that point forward it sat on a shelf in her basement. The only thing that stands between this instrument and a MINT rating is the scuffed paint on the underside of the keyboard (perhaps from being moved across a rougher surface; shown in pictures) and a couple of VERY faint scratches (which I was unable to capture in any images). Overall, I think you would be hard pressed to find any instrument 35+ years old in better shape than this without it being in a factory sealed package.” Click here to search for synths on eBay

“Original Owner – Bought in high school – used / played in band for years. Started playing mostly piano, stopped using the synth, put it in a padded case, and stored it in my basement where it’s been since the early 90s. Minimal wear and tear.

I recently took it out and tested everything out – works great. (I have the PG-200 programmer for it as well – NOT included, but selling in another listing).

** The back panel does have a small bumpy texture to it – see the pics above**
It doesn’t affect the playing at all, and you can’t see it from more than a foot away, but you can feel it.
(I think it must be tiny pieces from the foam in the case it was stored in (which was disintegrating after 25 years), but again, it plays (and looks) fine.)”

“Roland JX-3P Polyphonic Synthesizer in Good to Fair Condition (depending on your expectations for a 30 year old synth).

Really love this synth! I bought one that was mint for dirt cheap so selling this one.

This JX-3P plays and sounds fantastic and everything works.

Here are the caveats:

1. One key in the higher octave requires a little more pressure than the others. Still works fine though.

2. One slide cap missing and slider is slightly bent. Still works fine though. See photos.

3. Scratch on the front. Does not effect functionality. See photos.”

“In overall very good cosmetic condition. Aside from a small paint chip next to the Memory buttons on the front, this synth is in NICE shape. Keys are white and not yellowed, with no cracks or chips. Minor scratches abound, but not many. ALL original buttons, knobs, sliders, jacks etc. are present and working. Power cable is firmly attached and original (and in nice shape).

As far as functionality goes, everything works 100%. All keys play as they should, and all editing parameters work too. Tuning, MIDI, programmer integration all work. The only thing I would mention is that the synth makes a slight humming noise when it is on- this humming noise is not through the output which is noiseless; it is coming from the unit itself. This does not affect functionality. Also of note, this unit was made for the US market, so it has 117V- you will not need a a voltage converter!”
