“I’m selling a Roland Juno-106 Synthesizer which overall is in very good condition.

Only important thing to note; you will need to replace the voice chips as currently there is a crackling sound when played!

My own test of this issue leads me to believe it is mainly voice chips 2 and 3 which are causing the problem – though I have been advised they should all be replaced at once.

It is entirely up to you how to go about solving this, but please keep in mind what I have described here so you’re fully aware.

Prior to this, I had the synth looked at by a professional audio man who tested and calibrated it (I have invoice for proof).

The exterior is really nice and clean looking, for a vintage Juno!

“This 1985 Roland Juno-106 has had new voice chips installed and sings! It has only seen studio time and a few live shows (but not many). I’m including a hardshell SKB keyboard case with the sale. I can include a heavy-duty keyboard stand if local pickup! ALL voice / filter chips are working proper without any issues we we had them professionally replaced / installed and calibrated this month. This synth was bought in the late 80s for a studio where it was used on many sessions. Always taken care of. Battery Voltage was checked and in spec, power supply checked and in spec. It was also fully calibrated. Not one thing was over looked. It is ready for years and decades of use.. ready for any synth lover’s rig. “It’s a sad day to let this one go, but I’ve got a big new project coming down the pipe that needs to be funded :’) This synth certainly needs no introduction, and has been with me since my first record. I’ve replaced two filter chips, which are the culprits for the “voice chip problem.” I’ve maintained the synth professionally and kept it almost completely in studio.

“I’ve had this synth for the last 8 years and it has been kept in air conditioned studios or at home.

I bought it in 2013 and then had it serviced and refurbished by Cyberwave EMS (vintagesynths.co.uk), who repaired all 6 voice chips, fitted a new battery, and replaced some sliders.

It has a minor, rare issue with the display which makes it a little harder to read. It’s been this way since I have had it, makes no difference to the sound and easy to operate regardless.

“A fantastic Juno 106 that has been restored and future-proofed. All the usual points of failure/wear have been replaced or serviced. It is very unusual to see a Juno with this amount of preventative work done to it.

Very good cosmetic condition for age

Completely recapped: all PSU and signal path electrolytic capacitors replaced with high-quality capacitors (Nichicon Muse, Elna Silmic, Panasonic)

All new Analogue Renaissance voices (6 x AR80017A + 3 x D5534A)

All new faders (panel and bender)

New felt gasket set from Bell Tone Synth Labs

All new tactile switches

New CR2032 battery and holder (so you can replace it easily next time), factory presets re-loaded

Original chorus chips have been socketed to allow for replacement in the future

Muting transistors replaced (these can lower output headroom if they start to fail)

Solder joints refreshed on heat sink mounted devices in power supply (a common failure mode)

Was originally a Japanese model but power transformer has been replaced for a Juno 106S transformer with multiple taps. As such it can be set for 110/240V operation (please specify)

Fully calibrated as per service manual

Will be shipped in aluminium flight case (needs new foam, but means it can be shipped securely)

“Roland Juno 106S Polyphonic Synthesizer. It is in very good “used” condition. The VCA/VCF chips have recently been replaced, so you won’t need to worry about those being faulty. The body has a few chips and scratches to the paint, and there is a crack on the left side panel. The power switch is slightly crooked in its enclosure, but this does not affect the ability to power on the synth.
