For sale is the classic Korg DW-8000.

These are very lovely digital synthesizers with gorgeous sounding analog filters.

This unit powers on and the display works, but does not opperate. Some buttons seem to respond. I am not familiar with this synth and I only know it is missing it’s internal CR battery.

Cosmetically, it is in fantastic condition, especially for it’s age, with light wear on bottom.

Turns on, makes noises. But sounds exactly the same, no matter what buttons I press. Not sure if it needs work, or it’s just me(know nothing about it). Anyway, selling as not working for parts or repair only, as is. In very good physical condition, no broken or cracked keys or buttons. Has a few scratches and some scuffs, but that’s about it. It is missing the plastic button at the top of the toggle lever. Comes inside a heavy duty flight case, the sponge lining in case is deteriorating, so keyboard needs a good cleaning. It’s about 30 years old and has some dings and scratches, given it’s age (the small plastic knob is missing from the top of the pitch-bend), which can be found in the pictures. (If a note sticks/doesn’t release, press the key that triggered the note harder to release — contacts probably need to be cleaned.) “This is a lovely synth from Korg, it’s an 8-voice poly capable of producing some truly wonderful sounds, and one of only a handful of hybrid synths that combine digital sound generation with fully analog filter and amplification section. It’s possible to conjure up screaming leads, soaring pads and tight analog bass, as well as excellent bells and chimes. There are plenty of videos online showing what this synth is capable of, it’s truly an underrated classic!

This synth is in excellent condition and all features work fully. Please note the two of cracks to the plastic body, shown in photos 9 and 10. “Powers up but no sound output. All front panel button controls engages when press. The speed led light flickers fast and slow when the slider is move up or down. IT IS MISSING THE JOYSTICK as seen in the pictures. Has a clip-on battery holder and I did put a new CR2032 battery (shows 3V). Bottom panel are missing all the screws so panel lifts freely. “This unit has been cleaned on the inside and has a new 2032 Battery holder for new batteries in the future so no more de-soldering. It comes with a power supply. The synthesizer itself works great but it has a few minor problems listed below. Unfortunately, due to these issues I am going to have sell this “As-is”.

The left corner is banged up and I suspect it was dropped sometime in its lifetime but it doesn’t seem to have damaged any boards inside. Damage is shown in pictures.

I have had some audio issues with the PHONES output but they usually stop after the unit has been on for awhile so I’m hesitant to replace it completely. I suspect this was also caused by the drop on the left corner. The best way to record or play would be to use both the L/R jacks. Haven’t had any issues using it like that

Finally, it has 2 broken (not dead) keys which I put tape on in the picture. I put them on the low and high G# since I play those keys the least, but you’d be able to put them anywhere a black key goes. If some black keys pop up online before this sells I will replace them, but as of yet, no luck. This synth does take midi so you can use something to control it if you like.”

Recently serviced. The battery was just replaced and a battery socket was added so future battery changes will be a breeze. It got a good cleaning inside and out. The 2 prong AC input jack was upgraded to a standard 3 prong jack eliminating the need for a hard to find power cord. It received a good cleaning inside and out. After the battery change, I loaded up the banks with a bunch of great sounds to get you rolling.
