“I have been the sole owner of this synth and have kept it in excellent condition. I have tested every slider, knob, pot, and key, and everything is fully functional! When I opened the case to inspect the components, I was pleased to see that it was nearly spotless. (See pics) The battery is old but in great shape and when I put it on the meter, it maintained a steady 3.3 volts. (Brand new it is rated at 3.6 volts.) All patches are intact and fully functional. The carbon contacts that sit under each key had oxidized with age, as would be expected, so they have been restored and all 61 keys work perfectly. I also connected the MIDI input to my Korg M1 and was able to trigger the Poly-61 as intended.

“NOT WORKING! Will not turn on. I have owned this synth since it was new for my home studio. See pics for superb cosmetic condition. Never gigged, never left it’s climate-controlled, smoke free environment. I do not know what the issue is, but before it went into storage I tested it and found several keys did not play. This was always played thru MIDI from my DX7, so I didn’t notice this before that. Hopefully someone familiar with these can bring it back to life-these instruments have a wonderfully rich sound and deserve to be played.

“Selling my NON-working Waldorf XT. It lights up intermittently but does not sound. This is the model that is expandable to 30 voices per the photos of the inside board. It looks like someone plugged it in with the wrong power supply or something as seen by the photo near the input. From what I have read this seems fairly common and repairable but i make NO claims that it is, therefore selling for parts only. I do not have the knowledge or expertise to attempt repair. Sold AS-IS. Let me know if there is anything else you need. Selling it with the non-original power supply. Potentially the problem exists there as well. When I plug it into another correct amp power supply it lights up every time normally but the led characters do not show anything. Otherwise, there are some knobs that the top caps are missing and a minor bend near the lower left rack hole. “

“I am offering a Preowned Vintage Akai AX80 1980’s Analog Synthesizer. Please understand that it is being SOLD AS IS WITH NO GUARANTEES AND NO REFUNDS. Also understand that this is a very large item and shipping costs will reflect this. I have no control over shipping costs. Here is what I know. The unit powers up without issue and produces undistorted sound. I was able to produce different sounds by adjusting controls. Pitch bend works as it should. I was never able to affect sound with the modulator wheel or the master control knob. One key is broken, but still produces sound. Another key, “A”, is depressed and doesn’t spring back. It does not produce sound. The following, “D” note does not produce sound. Some of the keys had been written on with a marker. I removed most of it with some remaining. I believe it will all come off with additional effort. The tone knob is missing. The exterior in general shows scuffs and scrapes/scratches. AGAIN, THE PIECE IS BEING SOLD AS IS FOR PARTS OR REPAIR.”
