# Sequential Circuits Multitrak
“I am the first and only owner of this great vintage synthesizer, having bought it new in 1985. If you are looking at this auction, you know what it is, so I won’t get into a lot of historical detail about how groundbreaking these Sequential Circuits instruments were when new.
I used this for my own entertainment and occasional gigs, which were almost always private parties being thrown by one or the other of the members of my band, for which we never really came up with a permanent name. So it’s been lightly used and is in excellent shape overall.
I had some repairs done and the battery replaced back in the mid-90′s but have used it very little in the past 15 years. This afternoon I set it up, loaded the programs, connected it up to an amp, and it seems to work fine. I had difficulty loading the factory demo sequences and they are not playing correctly. I think the sequencer itself is working OK but the loading process (from a cassette tape) isn’t.
All the controls work but the pitch wheel has a spot where the pitch jumps up about a third or fourth. All the keys seem to operate correctly. I’d recommend cleaning all the moving controls to smooth their operation, because as I said this instrument has been sitting almost unused for 15 years. The battery did seem to be retaining the programs when I shut it off and turned it on again a few minutes later, but the battery is at least 15 years old so you should plan to replace it. I can’t find anything else wrong based on a half hour of goofing around, but this is a 25-year-old analog electronic synthesizer so expect that there may be other little quirks I haven’t discovered.
Included are the power supply, the original program cassette, and the factory manuals.” Link
