# Roland MKS-80 with MPG-80 Programmer
“Roland MKS80 Super Jupiter Synthesiser and MPG80 programmer- one of Roland’s greatest synths from the 1980′s coupled with it’s MPG80 programmer for ultimate tweakability. An extremely rare combination, this is a MK5 version of the synthesiser- capable of thick, creamy pads and earthshaking bass and drones. Both the synth and programmer are in full working order. The programmer has had two MIDI sockets replaced on its rear panel as the originals had become loose and unreliable- the replacements can be seen in the pictures. At the same time the (rather useless) MIDI thru socket on the programmer was converted to be a programmer out- allowing the programmer to directly drive a MIDI sequencer. This allows the programmer data to be recorded and also negates the MIDI delay through the programmer when it feeds the synth directly. The modification does not prevent the programmer and synth being used in its originally intended configuration. The programmer cable has been repaired with heat shrinkable tape as the outer insulation (and only the outer insulation) had been damaged. The auction includes both the original memory cartridge and a 6u SKB flight case- as seen in the pictures. It also comes with a re-issue manual from Roland.
