# Roland Juno 60

Juno 60, Roland @ 18 October 2009

juno60_1 “I personally bought this instrument used from the local music shop approximately 23 years ago. It saw use in a garage band or two, but never made it to the bar gigs. By the time I was playing out, the Roland was set aside in favor of newer toys. Therefore, it has never seen a puff of smoke while in my possession over the last quarter century.

Because I’ve decided to sell it, I commissioned a wood cabinet company to cut new cheek (end) panels using the originals as patterns. They are truly beautiful and maintain the distinct vintage look of this keyboard. Mechanically, I had an electrician repair two items on the instrument. Old synths are notorious for dirty potentiometers. The original volume pot was noisy, so a new one was put in its place and is therefore literally as good as new. Also replaced is the 3-way Arpeggiator switch. The new switch is an exact replacement.

Everything works on the instrument. I personally tested every key, switch and patch two days ago. NOTE: This synth was very apparently mistreated by its original owner. You will notice in the close-up photos provided that the instrument has a good deal of scratches in the paint. These appear as charcoal colored against the black. Therefore, they are difficult to see in certain lighting, as you will see in some of the other photos, and pretty much impossible to see if you use it on stage where the lighting is usually dim and/or indirect. Nonetheless, I have done my best to show them in the photos and others may be lurking around as well. Please consider this before placing your bid; all purchases are final.

I don’t know the condition of the battery as I’ve never attempted to write tracks. Just in case, I am including a battery I purchased on eBay that was stated to be made for the Juno 60 (a 3-volt Sanyo lithium CR14250SE) still in its sealed anti-static bag.

The included case does an adequate job of protecting the Juno. It features the thicker one-inch dense foam and heavy duty zippers. The 36-page manual literally covers everything. The instrument will be packed with extreme care.” Link juno60_2juno60_3
