# Moog Rogue
“This auction is for a Moog Rogue Monophonic Synthesizer. This piece is from the early 80s. I have had this for about 2 years and is has served me well.
This is a great first analogue monophonic synth. Everything is laid out simply but it’s quite a powerful tool, and this thing can make some amazing sounds considering its simplicity. The ability to detune the oscillators allows for self harmonizing or atonal sounds as well. Great for analog bass tones, wierd space sounds, screaming synth leads, etc.
The condition of this Moog Rogue is excellent. Everything on this synth functions normally and as you can see from the pictures, it’s in great shape.
There is one small ding visible in the second picture. At one point before i owned this something hit on the face of the synth and a bit on the modulation wheel. It left a small mark that does not affect playability or use of the modulation wheel. It’s just a minor blemish.
Other than that, this Moog Rogue is cherry. All knobs/sliders are there and are undamaged. Everything works well, no scratchy pots, etc.The action across the keyboard is even and the keys are tight.
Another thing that makes this Rogue great is that somebody has already removed the dreaded “black foam” gasketing from under the keybed. Why? Moog Rogues have a common problem: The foam rubber used to dampen the keys tends to rot and melt all over the electronics. It must be removed before this happens otherwise it can cause electrical damage. It’s always something to watch out for when buying a Rogue. Fortunately for you, it was removed by a previous owner of this synth. That means this Rogue will continue to go go go!
Another sweet trick with this keyboard is to use the “audio in” to bypass the keyboard and run another instrument through the Moog filter. Not many keyboards can do this. Great for guitar, bass, horns, etc!” Link
