# Moog Prodigy
“Very early model – pre-interface jacks.
It has the classic “Moog sound” even with only 2 oscillators.
There are some things that a full-blown MiniMog does not even have:
Oscillator Sync – imparts a very unique timbre.
A dedicated Modulation source – in general, one uses Oscillator 3 on a Mini
as the source for modulation, so on the Prodigy you don’t sacfifice an
Oscillator just for this.
NOTE: Interface jacks ca be installed fairly easily by anyone familiar with
rudimentary electronics – I have the instructions including some hand drawn diagrams.
I just never felt the need to do this, as I have a couple other Moogs with interfacing.
I would call this in pretty good condition.
It’s the same as when I bought it about 15 years ago.
It appears something has been spilled on one of the end panels, but it does
not seem to have affected the functionality at all – everything works fine.
This one has a lighter colour wood than most of the ones I have seen.
The keys are all sitting nice and flat – no “buckteeth” on this.
PLEASE NOTE: One pot shaft is broken – it’s the OSCILLATOR 1 mixer level pot.
The knob is intact – this is how I received it about 15 years ago.
It will of course be included [removed and placed in a bag to prevent loss
during shipping].
There are possible sources for a replacement pot – I just never bothered.
Instead I pushed a metal sleeve over the broken shaft and then push the
knob onto the sleeve – works fine, but you do need to be careful that
the knob does not fall off and get lost – I only ever used this in a studio
so it never left the room.” Link
