# Moog Polymoog
“Selling my now classic and much desired Moog Polymoog, model 280a keyboard or known as the Gary Numan one.The polymoog works but needs some attention to be fully working, some of the presets need tuning as while the brass ones are fine the string ones dont sound as they should the best preset of all the immortal Vox Humana although there could be better, the harpsi, clav presets seem ok, there is not quite the modulation there should be ,however the filter seems ok and the bass filter fine, out of the 71 key notes 69 play , im sure the fault is with dead polycom cards as the keys have their separate card, these cards provide an instant fix to any dead note.Otherwise the rest of the polymoog seems to work, the pitch ribbon is fine , as far as condition goes quite good with a corner piece of cast missing see pics, some grazing to back of plastic top cover, this polymoog is dated Jan 1979 which i think would have been the final year of production or thereabouts. Some will know this synthesiser quite well , Gary Numan used one on the Pleasure Principle Album in 1979, and later on Telekon Album in 1980, perhaps best known on the No 1 1979 single Cars. I dont think this polymoog needs too much work to get all working , but selling as is with no returns, and yes once all working if Vox Humana is played through direct output the Cars/Airlane sound is there ,i understand its a raw sound with no filter. Altogether a now scarce classic Moog synthesiser still quite capable of making electronics that modern gear cannot. I will include spare polycom cards to replace the dead ones and a high quality copy spiral bound operation manual. Pick up only,i prefer cash on collection or bank transfer however i will leave the choice with you.A free still sealed CD of The Pleasure Principle will be included in the sale to demonstrate the sweeping filtered electronics of the Polymoog.” Link
