# Moog Opus 3 Project Machine
“First off, let’s make this absolutely clear:
THIS KEYBOARD DOES NOT WORK RIGHT AT ALL.
That said, details follow.
T LEAST the following problems exist. There are likely more
The sliders need replacing; the switches need replacing.
Most of them still largely work, but they are not reliable at all.
Many screws and one wooden end-piece are missing as well.
The tone generators all work, and at least one note divider is likely out
Divider problems typically cause a set of notes (all the C’s, for example)
to disappear; This is a common problem in poly-synths and organs.
1. It’s a great restoration project, as it still has life left in it.
It works enough that I keep it around hopefully for restoration (but my Farfisa Organs and other Moogs keep me quite busy enough, thank you).
2. It’s still an excellent noise-music generator, because the classic Moog filter works 100%. This thing still produces gut-wrenching lows, and a mere flick of a slider sends it into painful screeching, ear ringing highs. BTW, I am not responsible for the hearing damage these models can cause, and I am not joking AT ALL.

4. This is an EXCELLENT candidate for (careful) AC circuit bending. It can kill you, though, because most circuit bending is done using DC ( battery-powered) devices. Still, it can easily be altered for use as a stand-alone Moog filter, for example, and most of the keys still work.

Seriously, I like these keyboards a lot, and I always have. But, sadly, I have too many corpses and projects to keep it around;
I want desperately to fix my Moog Concertmate MG-1, and I can get the parts I need by selling this one.
It could live with surgery, but euthanasia and organ donation are definitely options.
WARNING: If my other keyboards were in a hospital room next to this, I would seriously be
concerned about staff infection or maybe flesh-eating virus. In fact, I am!
