# Moog Minimoog Model D

Minimoog, Moog @ 11 September 2017

“Up for auction is my beloved 1973 Moog Minimoog Model D. I think it is in great condition considering its age. I’m getting rid of it because I own a Voyager and simply have too many keyboards. All functions work as intended. Unit is clean and has no major blemishes. There is a key (G above middle C) that had been cracked but the previous owner glued it back together. I’ve never had a problem with it. This thing sounds amazing.

While this is in good working order, please consider that it is 44 years old. You may encounter issues down the road – the nice thing about these is that they are very well designed and easy to work on. I’ve tuned it a number of times. I’ve also cleaned the switches and pots periodically to keep them free of static. The keyboard sometimes needs attention – the springs that make contact with the bars that control the pitch have a habit of getting dirty and making the pitch fluctuate (or not sound at all). This is a very delicate process and shouldn’t be attempted by someone unfamiliar with vintage, expensive electronics. In short, while it is in good working order at the moment when it arrives it could be out of tune or it could fluctuate in pitch when you press a key – this is part of owning a vintage analog keyboard.” Link
