# Moog MG-1

MG-1, Moog @ 08 March 2010

“This is a cleaned-up and improved Moog Realistic synthesizer. The condition is better than new as it has been professionally modified.

The insides have been thoroughly cleaned and all the sliders replaced

New thermal coupling compound underneath the VCO ICs for better thermal coupling to the thermistors (better pitch stability)

Replaced all the electrolytic capacitors with new ones of same or higher voltage rating,

Recalibrated the synth per the service manual

Synth can now be triggered externally and used as a filter for external audio

RCA jacks removed and replaced with new Switchcraft ¼” jacks for: Audio Out, Audio In (to VCF/VCA), Gate In (positive voltage trigger > 1V, a more common standard in the synth world than the Moog S-Trig), VCF CV In

Attached power chord replaced with 3-prong IEC connector (easier to transport, easier to store)

Replaced the red LFO LED with a bright blue LED

Added ‘Sync Sweep’ functionality

Switch added to adjust the Envelope Generator to sweep the pitch of Oscillator 2. When the two oscillators are not sync’ed, you get Osc 2 pitch ‘swoops’, but when they are sync’ed, you get very cool metallic dynamic timbre changes.” Link
